Michigan Moonbats' Economic Solution: Free iPods For the Kids

In Michigan a classic vicious cycle has emerged. The more the economy stagnates, the more poor people there are, the more liberals get elected, the higher taxes are raised, the more businesses go under or escape to less liberal locales, the more the economy stagnates. The country on the whole is doing well, whereas Michigan wallows in its own recession, with a budget deficit over $1 billion. Fortunately, bureaucrats have a solution: provide a free MP3 player to every schoolchild in the state.

Naturally taxes will have to be hiked yet again to pay for this. But that's okay — there are still a few businesses that haven't shown the initiative to get off the sinking ship known as the Great Lake State. There will be fewer, however, if Dem House speaker Andy Dillon gets his way by increasing taxes on those that operate in Michigan without having facilities there. If Dillon doesn't understand that businesses will respond to this by no longer operating in Michigan, it could be because he represents metro Detroit, where the sort of Third-World socialism normally associated with failed states in Africa has managed to take root in North America.

Dillon also wants Michigan to cover half the cost of health insurance for everyone in the state. He hasn't mentioned where the money will come from, but unless he has plans to raid Fort Knox, businesses would be well advised to get out while they can.

If only the captain of the Titanic had thought to pass out iPods.

Detroit is a third-world country. Take a look at the pictures on this blog and tell me it doesn't look like something out of Somalia. Detroit is a triumph of two generations of unchecked liberal rule.

Will they pay for all of the song downloads as well? How about batteries? Will kids get the basic iPod or the more expensive ones with more memory? What if one kid breaks his...is there a replacement option? So many expenses, so little money...oh wait, they'll be raising taxes, so that's okay.

Tea Party

Governor and Taxspenders to Taxpayers: GAME ON!

Last week, a Lansing reporter informed Leon Drolet that a Governor's staffer had told him that the Gov was aware of the April 18 Taxpayer Teabag protest planned at the Capitol - and was preparing a "surprise" for protesters.

What "surprise"?

Turns out that the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) have moved up their lobby day in Lansing to coincide with our tax protest. They support Granholm's plan to mandate government preschool for all children. And they are not alone. An organization called "Artserve", which supports more tax dollars being spent on art, has also changed the day and time of their lobby day to April 18.

It appears those that demand more and more spending and higher taxes will try to outdo taxpayers that day. According to the AFT Michigan website, they are planning to bus public school teachers in from around the state.

It is now even more important than ever to spread the word to all taxpayers about the Taxpayer Protest Rally! Everyday taxpayers need to show up at the Capitol in Lansing on April 18, bring a teabag that we will deliver to the Governor, and tell Lansing politicians to balance their budget by cutting spending and enacting reforms; NOT BY RAISING TAXES ON CITIZENS! Get to the Capitol around 10:00am. Rally starts at 11:00am, but you will need time to park.

Taxspenders are planning to hijack this rally, and demand more and more of YOUR money. We cannot allow the voices of everyday taxpayers to be drowned out. Take the day off work, clear the calendar, gather your family and friends, and head to Lansing on April 18! Join Michigan Taxpayers Alliance, Americans for Prosperity, The Wayne County Taxpayers, The Kalamazoo Taxpayers and others grassroots organizations make Lansing understand we want no more taxes.

I am sick of these ads on national TV with that "Dumber and Dumber" actor Jeff Daniels trying to sell Michigan to business. Showing these testimonials about how great it is to have a business in Michigan. It is very obvious that when a state has to advertise to get business to come there, that they must be desperate for said business.
Dumb liberal policy is the cause, a lousy economy is the result.
