Life in Prison: A Dream Come True
Liberals who believe life in prison is suitable punishment for murder should follow this link to see just how horrible a life of loafing at taxpayer expense can be. It features pictures of the Justice Center Leoben in Austria. A few samples:

I'd sure rather be a murderer in Europe than a sick person in Cuba.

Hi, thanks for linking. But like I like your statements on those pics, especially this "Murderers need to stay strong to overpower their victims." lol.

I was just planning my next vacation, and was wondering how I could book a condo there. It looks great!
(Mountain view, if possible. Thanks.)

Remember, Austria had Arnold Schwarzenegger's name taken off a major stadium because he wouldn't commute Tookie's death sentence. So this luxury prison complex shouldn't come as a surprise!

Remember the days when "The Department of Corrections" was "The Department of Prisons."
Prisons were the place to be made uncomfortable, punish people for offenses against the general population, and make you feel like you never again do things to return to this place.
Use to be, prisons were a place to punish assholes who broke the law.
Now-a-days, with life-long liberal beaucrats in charge of most government agencies, we are made to feel we fail these assholes through our general lack of compassion and compulsion to live our lives as law abiding citizens.

Not only did my dorm room in college look like a slum comparatively (complete with roaches),
but I've had several apartments that didn't look
anywhere near as nice as this Austrian prison. Didn't see any
female prisoners either. What do they house them in pray tell?

Yeah, left one there myself. A lot of moonbats think housing murderers in luxury accommodations is a swell idea and are appalled that anyone thinks otherwise. And in their usual retarded way, they accuse anyone who disagrees with them of wanting to house all criminals in dungeons and torture them daily (like in Cuba). The idea that just because you oppose rewarding criminals with luxury doesn't mean you oppose treating them decently is beyond the ability of their tiny minds to grasp.

You know, if you actually read the Wikipedia article, or do any research besides reading blogs that always agree with what you believe, you'll see that this is not a prison in the sense that we think of prisons. This is a combined courthouse, D.A.'s office, and short-term detention center. These aren't murderers; at worst, they're repeat drunk-drivers or petty thieves.
My real beef, though, is with your statement that "Murderers need to stay strong to overpower their victims." I would love to see you find a story (documented, not just made up off the top of your head, please) where a murderer's repeat offense was blamed on his having lifted weights while in prison. I can counter with at least a half-dozen reports of prisons that run bodybuilding competitions. The prison operators (wardens, guards, what have you) consistently find that the dedication and discipline required to be a bodybuilder extends out to other parts of the convicts' lives, teaching them the value of hard work and persistence, rather than pursuing the quick fix. This, in turn, makes them better citizens, both during and after their stay in the Big House.
