Imus Insanity Opens Path For Leftist Censorship Power Play

It isn't only sophomoric kooks like Keith Olbermann who see in the absurd lynching of Don Imus a green light to rid the airwaves of anyone whose opinions don't concur with their own. More ominously, the insidious David Brock has this to say:

I applaud CBS for listening to reason and canceling Imus in the Morning. Viewers and listeners sent the clear message that they would no longer tolerate bigotry on America's airwaves. It is our hope that this incident will begin a broader conversation about the responsibility that news corporations, journalists, and media figures have to the American public. This is an opportunity for the media to truly raise the bar to a higher standard and return to the fundamentals of journalism.

This will sound high-minded only to those who have spent the last 30 years in a cave and don't understand that "bigotry" and "racism" now mean "anything the Left doesn't want you to hear." The "fundamentals of journalism" in Brock's lingo translates to "left-wing propaganda completely undiluted by opposing points of view."

Like Olbermann, Brock singles out Rush Limbaugh for destruction. Though there is no sane reason to call El Rushbo a "racist," that certainly won't stop totalitarian liberals from sending their nemesis to the same sort of politically correct auto de fe that claimed Imus at the first opportunity.

Brock, who incidentally would like you to know that he's gay, also wants Bill O'Reilly silenced. Why not? There is no way liberals could compete with either Rush or O'Reilly without resorting to coercion.

Slated for a witch burning by both Brock and Olbermann are talk show hosts Neal Boortz and Michael Savage. Glenn Beck, the token conservative at CNN's Headline News, will also be silenced if Brock gets his way, as will Ann Coulter and even MSNBC's Tucker Carlson.

What makes Brock more frightening than Olbermann is that he is not a clown, but a professional propagandist who receives funding as part of the Shadow Party by zillionaire leftists George Soros and Peter Lewis. Brock is President and CEO of Media Matters for America, a lefty outfit that evades campaign finance restrictions with its 501(c)(3) tax code status.

Other unsavory characters involved in Media Matters include Clintonista John Podesta, Shrillary Clinton, and the ever-frightening Al Gore. It also receives cash from the Tides Foundation, run by Teresa Heinz Kerry. As Sweetness & Light puts it:

In other words, Media Matters For America is just another front for the Democrat Party.

That this Democrat Party front would take money from political extremists and use it to advocate the silencing of opposing political views behind the smokescreen of "racism" reveals the threat it poses to the basic freedoms Americans hold dear.

Brock, who incidentally would like you to know that he's gay

He looks like a shirtlifter, but not a particularly merry one. So he's a not-so-gay gay?

The Left can't win in the marketplace of ideas, therefore it must close down the marketplace to its competitors.
