Global Warming Swindle to Cost NYC $32 Billion Under Bloomberg Plan
New York's RINO Mayor Mike Bloomberg has unveiled a new master plan to exploit the global warming hoax. The greedy scheme entails charging drivers as much as $21 to enter Manhattan and tacking $30 a year onto electric bills.
Bloomberg's 127 proposals not only appropriate money, but spend it too. Public plazas are to be created in every community, and city buildings will be retrofitted at who knows what expense so as to save a few pennies on heating bills. Rumors that a ten-story sculpture of Bloomberg's head made entirely of biodegradable tofu will be erected in Central Park have not been confirmed.
The Mayor's aides put the total cost of the initiatives at $32 billion. That's billion, with a B.

Maybe drivers should charge him when they LEAVE New York! Maybe we're stupid in Florida (No comments, please) but our city governments try to come up with ways that encourage people to MOVE IN, not LEAVE!

Only $32-100,000 per person?? What a bargain!!!
Of course, I'll bet good folding money that Mayor Bloomberg hasn't ever had to buy groceries every week, pay monthly bills or have to spend half his income in surviving every month.
They do not live in the real world, people....

He may have an (R) next to his name, but he is just your typical liberal. Tax and spend liberalism. As they run away with their global warming paranoia, liberals again oppress the middle class, this time with a $5,000 tax / yr / person working in Manhattan labeled as a toll. I could even live with liberals' love of taxes if they weren't so hell bent on killing people via auto-genocide.
As for NYC's population, CNN recently recorded a 400,000 person increase since 2000, but that was only due to a solid million immigrants coming to the city since 2000. The abortionists are killing so many babies that at this rate, (assuming no immigration in or out of the city), 98-99% of the city's population would be wiped out by the end of the century.

hi there.
the plan "could cost an estimated $32 billion by 2030". your government spends that much every four months or so in iraq. if that level of military spending were to continue you'd have spent about $2100 billion by 2030. spot the misinvestment? $32 billion is a drop in the ocean.
the idea that efficiency measures can only "save a few pennies on heating bills" is absurd. the fact is that buildings in the west are horribly energy inefficient and enormous savings can be made over a relatively short period (see for example, Toke & Taylor in Energy Policy 35 (2007) 2131–2140).
forget global warming, just think about what saved energy represents - saved money, saved oil. you guys like money and oil, right?
