British Police Terrorize Child For Using the Word "Gay"
The UK may not be up to doing anything about Iran kidnapping its military personnel, but when it comes to serious crimes, the British lion remembers how to roar. Two Cheshire police officers were sent to pound on George Rawlinson's door after the 11-year-old was found to have called a 10-year-old classmate "gay."
The word was used, as it often is among kids, as a generic term of disapproval that has nothing to do with homosexuality. But British authorities aren't about to let children fail to display reverence for all things homosexual. The incident has been formally recorded as a crime.
Observed George's dad, Alan Rawlinson:
We are law-abiding citizens who have paid taxes all our lives. I've constantly contacted police about break-ins at my business and never get a suitable response. George was really upset, he thought he was going to be locked up. This just seemed like a huge waste of resources for something so trivial.
But at least George wasn't actually thrown in jail, which is what happened to 14-year-old Codie Scott when she was arrested for racism after complaining that she couldn't get involved in a class discussion because so few of the students speak English.

there is an hispanic girl my daughter goes to school who "plays" like she understands english when it behooves her (her parents own a mexican restaurant in town where she works after school) and when she's in trouble, feigns ignorance of the language. she's seen her snicker when given detention and just doesn't show up.
now, if someone were to point this fact out - all the other kids know - i wonder what kind of trouble the truthtellers would suffer?

Nanc. They should investigate the parents to see if they are illegal ailiens, in a perfect world they would be deported. But with the scourge of MoonBattery, her and her family probably got a gov't backed loan to open that restaurant because they were illegal and hispanic/other than white. I say point it out and expose how minorities and those who refuse to learn english and assimilate play us for fools.

Of course, you all need to remember, that "hate crimes" legislation in this country won't lead to this kind of activity here.

There was a post over at Stop the ACLU where a commenter was infatuated with the new hate crimes bill introduced in the House. I brought up the fact that similar legislation in other countries has been used to persecute those with conservative or Christian beliefs. His response was that I shouldn't compare our judicial system to that of other countries and that he was going to sic Scalia on me. He apparently missed the common sense argument that what is happening in other countries will most certainly happen here.
Those people are apparently oblivious to the fact that if such legislation passes, every single crime comitted against a homersexual will treated as a hate crime first.

Second... shit like this happens in the States too. They're actually even more paranoid when it comes to stupid things like names and images. Remember the Janet-Justin incident during Superbowl? We Europeans laughed our asses off, the hysteria it created!
Third... British kids do NOT use the term 'gay' like American kids do. Only American kids use it the way you imply, describing something being lame.
Then again, if the story really happened it's pretty hilarious.

No one ever said otherwise. This kind of retarded stuff happens wherever moonbats are in charge. But this incident is nothing at all like Janet Jackson flashing her joybags at the Superbowl and comparing the two is stupid.
No, the more apt analogy is the girl in California who got suspended for responding "That's gay" when classmates were mocking her religious beliefs. Of course those who mocked her religious beliefs got no discipline or punitive action whatsoever.

While you Europeans were being oh, so, cool and superior to us, we Americans were getting crap like this shoved down out throats SEVERAL TIMES A DAY! The reason we got so pissed about the "wardrobe malfunction" was because we had seen it A HUNDRED TIMES BEFORE and had become SICK OF ALL THE CRAP. We still get "entertainers" saying and doing stupid things in order to get attention, we have HAS BEENS getting back in the spotlight (however briefly) by screaming pro-terrorist propiganda.
Stuff like this is no longer "shocking", it has gone to "boring", passed "annoying" and has now arrived at PISSING US OFF.
