Bleeding Heart Diet Plan

If you're on a diet, the video below might help — by twisting your stomach into knots so tight that putting food down there would be out of the question. It's a short clip from Court TV summarizing the story of Esteban Carpio, who was being questioned by police about murdering an old lady in Providence when he grabbed the gun of officer Jim Allen and shot him in the face at point-blank range.

As Allen died, Carpio jumped out a third-floor window and tried to escape. Police caught up with him within a few blocks.

When Carpio next appeared in court, he was wearing one of those Hannibal Lecter masks to keep him from spitting and biting — very prudent considering that he had just murdered a police officer. Unsurprisingly, his face had suffered some bruising during his escape and subsequent recapture. Carpio was sentenced to a lifetime of loafing and watching TV at the taxpayers' expense.

The horror comes from Court TV's point of view. Astoundingly, they adamantly take the side of this vicious murderer, and demand viewers do the same. An array of moonbats including the verminous Ron Kuby come forward to whimper that the poor misunderstood fellow was not treated with the reverence he deserves. You have to see it to believe it:

On a tip from Wiggins.

"Makes him look like an animal?" He is an animal. "Police brutality?" How about brutality against police? How can one begin to even try to get into the mindset of liberals?

What is it with libs and cop-killers? I think Evergreen State has just found its next commencement speaker.

I am just disgusted.

It could be worse, Check out this Euro-Prison. These are the accommodations moonbats think animals like Esteban Carpio are entitled to.

Ron Kuby is a commie disgrace. He's on WABC in the morning, which I sometimes tune into on my way to work...but most of the time I have to turn it off because of his inane commentary.

Court TV could have compared police justice with Crapio's justice by also showing a picture of what a bullet to the face looks like.

It looks to me like this young man was roughed up by his guards while awaiting trial. That's an outrage, and it's got nothing to do with politics. Do you want to live in a society based upon a rule of law tht applies to EVERYBODY, or do you want to live in the kind of world where the police can administer their own mob justice behind closed doors? i can't believe some of you are so vehemently in support of this! You should be ashamed of yourselves--genuine Justice (i.e. the kind that allows a Republic to flourish) is only possible when the rules apply to everyone, including the people you find repugnant. I urge you to rethink this issue, without the context of any particular group or party, but only as an issue of an Upright, just and Decent civilization.

The filthy murderer messed up his face when he jumped out of a third-story window, asshat.

Are you saying that you APPROVE of shooting people in cold blood as long as they are cops? What sort of "justice" was Caprio trying for when he commited TWO murders? Do you think that he was helping "genuine Justice (i.e. the kind that allows a Republic to flourish)"? Do you accually think that CRIMINALS are the ONLY people who are entitled to a safty?

KHam:

No, I think I've failed to make myself very clear. Let me try again.
Obviously no rational person is going to support or approve of murder. I wasn't voicing any approval for violent crimes or those who commit them. Any civilization agrees that certain behaviours won't be tolerated, and a framework of agreed-upon societal norms is generally created. A stable government is impossible without this framework, wouldn't you agree? Without law there can be only anarchy.
Now, it looks like this man is undeniably guilty of the crimes he's charged with. In that case, I would be in full support of carrying out the death sentence. I was mistaken when I first posted--this man was NOT beaten by the police while in custody. I thought that he had been, and was basing my replies on what I interpreted as quite a few posts that seemed to support beating prisoners. My point was that if we allow police to beat up suspects we wouldn't be any better than the criminals. The guarantee of a fair trial is one of the cornerstones of this glorious Republic, so as far as I'm concerned suggesting someone...ANYONE...be stripped of this right is hateful to those who truly love Liberty and Justice. I still stand by that view, by the way, but I don't imagine people will find it so inflammatory now I've explained myself. Does it make more sense now? I apologize for the misunderstanding.

V the K...I'm disappointed in you. Even if I were the battiest moonbat on earth I have been consistently polite and reasonable here on your site. Do you really think it was appropriate to call me an asshat because I mildly expressed what you thought was an opposing view?

nixonsninja, V the K has graciously provided Moonbattery with many valuable tips, but it's not his site. He runs Caption This! and The Best Congress Money Can Buy. Both are recommended.

Oh man, another serving of Humble Pie?:) Once again, Van Helsing, my mistake. Thanks for the tip.

Normally I'd agree that the cops have absolutely no right to beat the crap out of somebody like that. But with the facts of what happened in this scenario, I don't understand why somebody would pay more attention to the guy’s swollen face instead of the crime everybody in that court room knew he committed. I tend to not to feel sorry for people who get their heads beat for cold blooded murder. The reason the guy took the guard's life was for nothing more than to grant himself a chance to get away. The bruises on his face will be far less painful than that family's loss, especially for such a stupid reason. We have laws for a reason but good ol’ fashion ass beatings have their place too. I hope that guy burns in hell despite his poor, poor swollen face.
