A Yardstick For Measuring Treason
As Nathan Hale observes, the objective of military action is not to kill the enemy, but to break his will to fight. This fundamental principle is taught at all levels of military training. In times so warped by moonbattery that treason has become politically acceptable, it provides a useful yardstick to determine who is acting in our country's interests, and who is acting in the interests of our Islamofascist enemies.
Hale gives an obvious example: setting an arbitrary date for retreating from Iraq, as advocated by Democrats. Will this undermine our terrorist enemies' will to fight? Hardly:
It seems obvious that it gives them a goal to aim for. They merely have to hang on until this date and victory is theirs. Ask any athlete which is easier — to run a known distance or to simply start running until the coach tells you to stop?
A timeline for withdrawal will strengthen al-Qaeda's resolve, while signaling to our troops that they are fighting for a cause that has already been abandoned. Determine whose will to fight is being attacked, and it is crystal clear whose side the Democrat Party has taken in the struggle between America and Islamic terrorists.
On a tip from Byron.
