Political Correctness Is So Gay
It's not as if kids aren't learning anything in our schools. One thing they learn, which is very necessary to know in our society, is that there are people you can ridicule to your heart's content, and other people you may not affront in any way, even by accident.
In Santa Rosa, California, Rebeka Rice's classmates were exercising their politically correct right to ridicule her for being a Mormon by asking, "Do you have 10 moms?" when the high school freshman made the mistake of responding with the generic expression of dismissal, "That's so gay." Few Americans are unaware that this very common idiom means something along the lines of "That's ridiculous."
But Rebeka soon found herself in the principal's office for supposedly insulting homosexuals, who are so sacred to the sort of moonbats running our schools that to say anything they might not like is regarded as blasphemy. Though she got off with a warning and a notation in her file, her parents were so disgusted they took the matter to court.
Intoned the school district's lawyer:
The district has a statutory duty to protect gay students from harassment. In furtherance of this goal, prohibition of the phrase "That's so gay" … was a reasonable regulation.
As any reasonable school kid would respond, that is so gay.
On tips from Bill V. and Wiggins.

It could be pointed out that a Mormon student was harassed rather than a gay one, but the school district has its priorities.
Too bad providing a balanced education for the students it was created to serve isn't one of them.

Insulting homosexuals, even tangentially, that close to San Francisco? Not a good idea. The principal is even money to be a rump wrangler himself.

Oh Jay...that's so gay!

It's a good thing my son is home-schooled, since he came up with the expression "That's so AIDS," meaning that something is so gay it f's you up the a and kills you.

OT: Two British Scientists have found a winning solution to the problem of atmospheric C02 and are submitting it for the Gore/Branson prize, Stop breathing.
It may be futile, though, since the human-induced global warming phenomenon is so bad it's spread to Mars.

I feel that that was the correct response to the question. The classmates didnt ask: "Do you have 10 moms and a dad?" Some of those students probably live with same sex unions...I guess that the "correct" response would have been ;
" Ten moms..? Thats so lesbian"

I missed the boat on this one but verist got it - mock the childs religion A-OK - make innoccuous remark totally unrelated to actual sexual orientation - to the reeducation camps with you!

I used to say "that's so gay" when I was a kid, and even use it now on occasion. It means nothing offensive, and like verist says, the fact that the Mormon kid got mocked was completely swept under the rug. But then, Mormons are not on the protected species list.

When I was in grade school, a classmate insisted on saying something stupid over and over. I got fed up and said (quote) "oh drop dead". He gasped and exclaimed "you just threatened my life"!. Since that was in the Sixties, I sneered at him for being an idiot, but if it had happened today, well....

Urgay has come up with yet another fact filled quote from the moonbat left.
Based on time honored leftwing research techniques he or she has determined that Mormons and Conservative Republicans are gay.
Why is anyone surprised that they refer to Iraqi and Palestinian terrorists as a legitimate resistance?

"urgay"...go find a chalkboard to write that on.
And while "ur" at it, don that dunce cap and stand in the corner.

Ha. 'urgay' flexes the muscles of liberal logic.
It could also go like this:
Humans cause global warming and we must tax. Humans cause global warming and we must tax. Humans cause global warming and we must tax. Humans cause global warming and we must tax.

Urgay, please get it right. That should read:
"(There are) Mormons and Conservative Republicans (who) are gay."
That's right children, there are gays who are religious and think that Liberals are nuts!

Urgayer:
Are you saying that gays are all religious conservatives, or that you hate gays?
You must be a high school drop-out to write something so insensitive about a beatified group like homosexuals. You're really saying that you're an unmitigated, hypocritical idiot. In other words, a leftist.
What about bisexuals and "trans-genders?" Where do they fall in the religious and political spectrum?
