Mother's Day Banned in Interests of "Sensitivity"
Considering that the campaign to ban Christmas advances year by year on the pretext that not everyone is Christian, this was inevitable: a school has banned Mother's Day cards because not everyone has a mother.
Helen Starkey, head teacher of Johnstown Primary School in Carmarthen, Wales nixed the tradition of making Mother's Day cards because it might upset the small percentage of kids who have been separated from their birth mothers. Having those kids make cards for some other caregiver apparently required too much creative thinking. As always in matters of moonbattery, the interests of the majority were ignored.
Political correctness has gone after Mom and the flag: how long will apple pie be safe?

You know, not everyone has a teacher. Or a principal. Maybe we should ban those too, just so none of the poor kids in third world countries feel badly about the rich Welsh kids getting an education.

Apple Pie? Well on the one hand its fattening, so they could ban it on those grounds. On the other hand, if you could prove the apples were picked by illegal aliens (doing a job Americans aren't willing to do!) I guess it would be O.K. with the P.C. crowd.

To make a good pie crust, you have to use the dreaded trans-fat, so the banning of apple pie is well underway here in USA.

It's inevitable that in the search for perfect equality and tolerance, all our traditions will be shoved aside, thus destroying the loyalty and fabric of society, leaving us with no society at all.

"...thus destroying the loyalty and fabric of society, leaving us with no society at all."
A clean slate, in other words. Perfect opportunity for the NEO-COMMUNISTS to swoop in and take control.

Ah, yes. The age old human right not to have one's feelings hurt trumps common sense.

Ban Mother's Day cards because someone may not have a mother.
Ban Valentine's cards because someone might not get one.
Ban tag and dodge ball because someone may get hurt.
Ban pictures of snow in text books because someone may not have seen snow and be offended.
Ban teaching about George Washington because he owned slaves.
Ban using red ink because it might hurt someone's feelings.
Ban the pledge of allegiance because someone might not be an American.
Ban Black History Month because someone might not be black.
Oh, wait...scratch that last one, that one's okay.

Apple pie! This isn't the US this is Wales. Don't they eat haggis pie or something equally disgusting!

This is hilarious because Mothers Day is one of the original moonbat holidays. It was invented by a female anti-war protester during the Civil War. the idea was a "million mom march" kinda thing to draw attention to moms that lost sons during the civil war.

Belchspeak, that's what I call irony...
Now, Bill V:
Apple pie! This isn't the US this is Wales. Don't they eat haggis pie or something equally disgusting!
If you're going to insult people, do it properly. Haggis is scottish. Wales is famous for sheep shaggers.
However I would prefer you didn't insult them at all, seeing as it's rather rude and unproductive in this particular instance.
