Government Job: Spanish Speakers Only Please
One of the many reasons immigrants are well advised to learn English as quickly as possible is that it isn't easy to get a job unless you speak the language. However, moonbattery is turning this on its head, so that speaking the language now means speaking someone else's language rather than our own.
Business student Desirea Certain has had a hard time finding a summer job in Adams County, Colorado because of requirements to "read, write and speak fluently in the Spanish language" — for jobs with the county government.
She certainly isn't happy about it:
I kind of felt like an outsider, like I wasn't in America anymore.
An Adams County bureaucrat explained that the county is 30% Hispanic, and therefore people have to start speaking Spanish, lest immigrants be put to the trouble of learning our language. I wonder if you need to speak Ebonics to get a government job in Detroit.
Let me be the first to predict that speaking English in the USA will one day constitute felony "racism."

Knowing a second (Or third) language is a great thing, but for a NATIVE to know s forigne language to get along in his/her OWN COUNTRY is pathetic.
And before some neo-socialist brings up native African in the colonial era having to learn a European language, let me point out that there IS NO COUNTRY called "Africa", nor is there a race or language called "African". What we call "Africa" is a CONTINENT, the people called "African" are NEGROID, or NEGROS. (Don't call me "racist", it's a fact) And back to the origonal point, the "natives" of colonial Africa spoke DOZENS of languages and dialects. The European languages were standardised when the WHITES established modern governments and businesses, just as they did in the United States.
Heck, if we had left the "indians" of America alone, we would have the same tribal wars that still cause the MIDDLE EAST so much trouble!

Colorful post KHarn, and true-it is pathetic. I get so sick and disgusted by this sort of thing. I wonder if the people of Moonbattery would be willing to call them and protest-I would commit to it; it is going to take action, not complaining.

What I think is funny is when some politically correct ninny insists on calling a black person an African American, and they respond with:
"But my ancestors were Australian Aborigines, not Africans"
or
"But I'm from Jamaica, not Africa"
or
"But I'm not an American, I'm British"
People are so eager to pigeon hole others into specific racial categories. Remember when Tiger Woods first got famous, the blacks all wanted to claim him as one of their own, and he's like "but I'm half Asian", they didn't want to hear that.
