Blogger Amanda Marcotte Quits John Edwards Campaign

After days of indecision, zillionaire trial lawyer John Edwards declined to fire moonbat blogger Amanda Marcotte from his presidential campaign. But now she has resigned, amid an ink cloud of incoherent whining about "right wing shills" who persecute her for being a "mere woman."

Marcotte had gotten herself into hot water with what even the libs at WaPo describe as "profane and offensive attacks." Christians have been prominent targets of her foul-mouthed diatribes.

Here's an unusually profanity-free sample of the bile spewing from the mouth that Edwards chose to represent his campaign on the Internet:

Of course, if you're a perverted religious nut, the blood and the pain of "cherry"-breaking is probably a de riguer [sic] part of a woman's life, both to give the man a cheap thrill of actual blood while enacting the sex-as-violent-possession construction that is part of virginity fetishization and to remind the woman of her religious teaching that womanhood is suffering (see: Genesis).

Blogger Melissa McEwan remains on the Edwards campaign. She has described Christians as President Bush's "wingnut Christofascist base."

These are the sort of people who could be running our country in two years.

Comments

After reading some of her writings, one wonders if she's married.

Posted by: ~~~ bjd ~~~ at February 13, 2007 2:43 PM

If she is married then it's obviously her husband writing it all. Cos, y'know, women can't think for themselves...

Wait, that's only true if they're conservative. Shucks. I need a re-education refresher.

How twisted is it when posting actual statements as quotes that she made on her blog is considered a "smear" by her and the MSM? Yet the AP can print quotes and reports by a guy that does not exist.

Amanda resigned saying:
“I felt that every time I coughed, I was risking the Edwards campaign.” (Pandagon)
Based on how she has described herself in her comments section, I for one wouldnt want to be anywhere near her when she coughed!

No, she's probably not yet married-she's probably a lesbian given her hostility to men. Aside from this, I wonder why people who vote Democrat are able to overlook the left's hostility to religion and faith and especially Christianity-the basis of American civilization. It is true that most people who vote Democrat are Christian. Most of Middle America who vote Democrat do so out of imaginary belief in the Democrat's supposed "working man" roots and policies. It is amazing that this type of venom doesn't revolt more of them. However, there are MANY liberal converts to conservatism. I have never met a person who converted the other way-make of that what you will.

Have you all seen her rant at the homepage?

Now, as for people claiming to be Christian and then writing emails that clearly don't look like they're from Christians, that would irk me. Still, she shouldn't be complaining, because that makes her a hypocrite.

And her hosting company is so nice.

Too bad she's a slobbering misandryst, she ain't that bad looking.

Posted by: Brooklyn Red Leg at February 13, 2007 5:30 PM

I sincerely doubt she's married. She makes her disdain for men, except as tools for her (questionable) pleasure, quite clear. How pleasurable is it for the men, I wonder?

It certainly didn't take long for her to quit as blogger. I'm wouldn't be surprised if she was persuaded with a bit o' the green. She's obviously a devotee of Hillary Clinton, who is also paranoid about that dastardly "right wing conspiracy."

Good looking? Are you S***ing me? That broad would have to sneak up on a glass of water to take a drink.

If that's good looking, I feel sorry for your selection of previous girlfriends.

::shrugs::

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are people who say Marilyn Monroe was a fat, ugly bitch (Im not one, btw). What you find appealing won't be the same as what other people find appealing.

Marcotte's vile personality is the main reason I dislike her.

Posted by: Brooklyn Red Leg at February 14, 2007 12:34 AM

Personality has a great deal of effect on looks. She could be stunning if she didn't spend so much time wallowing in bile. Sort of like the Dixie chicks, who are all ruining their looks with that permanent down-turned face. All that anger destroys a face just as surely as if you were tugging at it with meathooks.

It seemed obvious that Edwards didn't have the balls to fire them, but was persuading them to quit on their own. I'll bet the deal was made for both of them to quit before Edwards announced they could stay on this staff.

The fact that he's too weak to take a position on this makes him too much of a shill for the left. I'm sure he would have had no problem standing up against a blogger making deragatory comments about the "protected" peoples of the earth.

Why is it that the liberals in this country have absolutely no problem dividing themselves from the right? Wouldn't you want a president who, oh, I don't know, might actually be considered a president of ALL Americans, and not just those on the far left? Isn't there one decent democrat who could stand up and say they don't hate republicans, they don't hate conservatives, they want to be an AMERICAN president, not just a one-sided, "right-wing-conspiracy-theorist", front-person for the far-left?

If we're going to have a dem for pres, why does it have to be a divider? Well I know one reason, because they'd never get the nomination, not in a hate-filled party run by the likes of pelosi and kennedy. You have to hate, and I mean really HATE Christians and conservatives to get to the head of the dem party.

From my Conservative/Libertarian viewpoint, I have a lot of trouble with this brouhaha.

It's very difficult to complain when liberals don't give conservatives the opportunity to speak at various venues, and then come down on them when they exercise their right to speak freely.

Liberals say a lot I have a problem with, as do others of their ilk ... but PC be damned - they have the right to express what they feel as well.

Here's something interesting. Amanda Marcotte's Flickr account. It has some mighty interesting images. It's kinda like seeing into the mind of a moonbat... tis a dark and scary place indeed:

also... other images of her show that she's quite mannish and looks a bit like Emo Phillips.

Bruce said: "It's very difficult to complain when liberals don't give conservatives the opportunity to speak at various venues, and then come down on them when they exercise their right to speak freely."

But replying to a comment is not censorship. His sentence shows an important differance between right and left. The left tries to deny the right the chance to speak. Think of the protests at the universities where rightist speakers are booed down without having spoken a word, or the DailyKos inspired DoS attacks on rightist websites. Is that really the same as responding to a commentary made by a leftist? Freedom of Speech does not mean a person is free from response to, or consequences of, that speech. The exchange of commentary, opinions and fact is the very essence of the market place of ideas in operation.

I think a lot of people have twisted the conservative position on this, for whatever reason, either ignorance or or purposely to detract.

No one is saying liberals don't have the right to speak or write their mind. The problem is with Edwards. If he hires people like that on his staff, it speaks volumes about what he stands for. If a blogger on a pol's staff had exercised their right to free speech by making derogatory comments on the "protected" peoples of the earth, there would be heck to pay.

And rightly so. You can say what you want, no one's stopping you. But there are consequences. If an anti-Muslim blogger had NOT been fired by a republican pol, it would give the appearance that that pol didn't have much of a problem with it. Did he? Did Edwards? Words are cheap. Any politician out there will easily condemn unpopular speech, but will they act on it? Edwards didn't.
