Sandy Burglar "Compromised National Security Much More Than Originally Disclosed"
In 2003, Clinton's National Security Adviser Sandy Berger stole and destroyed classified documents, evidently to prevent the 9/11 Commission from finding out how derelict his old boss was in preventing the rise of Islamic terrorism. The lamentably limited fallout continues, with a House report released yesterday administering a nasty tongue lashing — though Burglar will still avoid any significant consequences for his treasonous activities.
According Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA), of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Berger
compromised national security much more than originally disclosed. […] It is now also clear that Mr. Berger was willing to go to extraordinary lengths to compromise national security, apparently for his own convenience.
Thanks to Burglar, the 9/11 Commission "relied on incomplete and misleading information regarding its access to documents." We still don't know what documents are gone forever because Berger thought they might confirm that dealing with terrorism was not a priority on a par with molesting interns for the Clinton Administration.
As you'll recall, Berger pleaded guilty last year to stealing the classified documents he snuck out of the National Archives after stuffing them down his pants. Rather than the appropriate lengthy stay at Leavenworth, he received a token wrist slap consisting of a $50,000 fine and 100 hours of community service. If the misfortune of another Clinton Administration befalls us in 2008, Berger will have access to classified material again.

On a tip from Wiggins.

National Security is less and less of an issue these days, look at what happened with Lynn Stewart. But as for the stolen documents, I heard that what Sandy was caught with were only duplicates, which doesn't have anything to do with his treasonous intentions if he thought they were the only originals. Hopefully the 9/11 commission still had everything......hopefully.

Sandy Berger may have taken duplicates, but if they weren't important, why bother? What handwritten notes might have been on those duplicates, notes that were not on the originals? Of course we'll never know now, since Berger snipped them all into itty bitty pieces with his Fiskar scissors (you know, the kind with the blunt ends so he won't hurt his widdle self).
There was obviously something on those that Berger (or more likely his puppetmaster Clinton) didn't want anyone to find while the 9/11 Commission was convened. He risked a lot to spirit them out of the National Archives. Obviously his gamble paid off...and the American people are the losers.
