I think the issue here is that the group may very well be racist, and they are serving pork soup intentionally so as to avoid giving it to people they don't like. If they are anti-Semitic, it's odd that they would do something that would also offend Muslims (and yes, I know, Arabs are Semitic), since they usually have a shared hatred of Jews.

If the group was saying to Jews and Muslims, we're not going to serve you, then there would be a discrimination case. They've just found a "loophole." Though it's not really a loophole.

I'm interested to know if this soup is the only item the soup kitchen serves (the article doesn't say). If it is, perhaps there is some basis for calling it racist. On the other hand, is a group that gives out free food beholden to everyone's dietary requirements? What's next, not giving out meat at all because it's discriminatory against vegetarians? Where does it stop?

I am an observant Jew, and I have never interpreted anyone serving non-kosher food as an act of Jew-hating.

It galls me to imagine one of these shallow, self-aggrandizing idiots speaking about Jew-hatred as though it were something he cared about. The history of France speaks for itself, though I doubt this miscreant knows it.

The fact is that like pretty much every European govt official, he is twisting and writhing to assure that his dhimmitude is on public display. That's all this is - another European cowering before the threat of Islam, and disingenuously trying to portray his cowardice and ethical weakness as an attemt to prevent racism/Jew-hating.

I don't know how to say "crock" in French, but this sure is one.
