New York State Bureauweenies Go After Body Armor

Their jihad against the Second Amendment isn't enough for the bureauweenies running New York. Forget about owning a gun, they don't want you even to be able to stop bullets coming out of other people's guns. Bill number A00404 threatens to do this:

Prohibits the purchase or sale of protective body vests except to law enforcement or military personnel; provides for registering of such sales by vendors; establishes unlawful purchase or sale of a body vest as a class A misdemeanor.

The idea of course is that body armor protects criminals from police bullets. It also protects law-abiding citizens from criminals' bullets. Say you wrote a book or made a movie or drew a cartoon that Muslims don't like — body armor would come in very handy. But bureaucrats don't seem to be overly concerned with the interests of law-abiding citizens.
