Katrina Helicopters Going Down Left's Memory Hole

You can't fight liberalism with facts, because liberals make up their own, and refuse to acknowledge any that don't support their ideology. They live in an alternate reality, with its own alternate history that differs markedly from what really happened. To give a recent example, the moonbats at TalkLeft and Facing South are mad that helicopters have been used to help ranchers in Colorado, whereas no helicopters were used following Katrina.

Yes, you read that correctly. In our world, helicopters were dispatched within hours of Katrina hitting the shore — including these from Colorado. But that doesn't fit the storyline of oppressed persons of color forsaken by capitalist America, so libs are forgetting it ever happened.

Keep these pictures in a safe place before progressives find a way to stuff them down the Memory Hole:

How the hell can anyone compare these two disasters. Colorado is nothing compared to the destruction of Katrina. Considering the logistics alone needed in New Orleans, you could have had ten times as many helicopters and still not gotten enough food, water, and evacuations to make anyone happy.

All their doing in Colorado is dropping hay bales and locating.

Could the Katrina effert been faster and better organized? Of course. but please don't even let anyone try to say the people there didn't try to do the best they could.

Now get that city up and running, repair or replace the levies, and lets get back to the big easy.

It impossible to care about the truth and still be a liberal.

Yeah, well. The Liberals also tend to forget that the Helicopters that WERE sent down there were--some of them--getting shot at by gangs (morons?).

Just thought I'd throw that in there.

Ummm, you might want to check the source of those photos. If it's Reuters, they could be fake.

steve - none of them are reuter's - just right click each one and open link to see.

anon? when you start paying more for your beef, you'll be singing a different tune. and "effert" is spelled "effort".

if they'd ignored the cattle, the peta people would have been all over their butts like so many diapers. seems to me you don't know which side of the cattle panel you're on.

Just say it plain. You will never give the blacks enought to satisfy them and all blacks are democrats so the same applies to the dhimmi's.

The main word to remember is 'give'. We have gave since 1865 and little has changed. They simply went from slaves of the white's to slaves of the lying con man blacks and dhimmi politicians and are now brainwashed to vote for the dhimmi's, thinking they will 'give' them more. The lying con man blacks are living like 'Kings','Jacksons', and 'Sharptons'.

they like being slaves to something.

spot on scrapiron - you nailed it.

Posted by: nanc at January 7, 2007 9:01 PM

nanc, I was being silly.

Posted by: Steve at January 7, 2007 9:02 PM

Amen Scrapiron, but not to worry. When America is majority "people of color" I'm sure they will make sure they are satisfied... If you know what I mean.

Reminds me of that goofy music video a few months back where it implied that if US troops only returned from Iraq, they would have been there airdrop supplies in New Orleans (of course they set aside reality that help did arrive, though there was mismanagement and miscommunication at all levels, from Nagin on up - not to mention New Orleans thug brigade shooting at helicopters)

The video was ludricously depicting B-2 Stealth bombers airdropping supplies into New Orleans - of course B-2 are stationed in the US and armed with nukes, not pallets of food (which they are not equipped to drop anyway)

What you fail to remember is that many of those choppers flew AGAINST orders from the Bush administration.

Both the Coast Guard and Fish and Wildlife Service disobeyed administration orders to wait for four days.

Meanwhile, USS Iwo Jima, with helicopters, 36 doctors and other personnel, and hundreds of hospital beds, was ordered to stand down even though it was only a few miles off shore the day after the storm.

Thank God the Coast Guard didn't listen to Brownie and the Bushies!

PS: None of the helicopters were ever shot at. That's an urban legend.

Posted by: Ronald Reagan at January 8, 2007 12:11 PM

RR, why must you show your ignorance?

The Coast Guard is under the control of the Department Of Transportation AND when they get a call, they go out. They DON'T ask the President for conformation.
The Fish And Wildlife Commission is under the STATE governments. They are not detailed with rescue operations, they did so durring the Katrina disater on their own initiative.

But if you have PROOF that President Bush DIRECTLY ORDERED them not to go out, then let's have it.
"Proof" (n): Something Liberals refuse to admit the existance of.

USS Iwo Jima, Wasp Class, built to replace the smaller LHAs (I served on the Peleliu LHA-5, and I've been to Iwo Jima, just for the record).

And Ron, please provide some proof of your claim and the Iwo Jima.

And Ron, please provide some proof of your claim and the Iwo Jima.

Left-Wing BS needs no proof.
