Girls Charged With Plotting to Kill the Energizer Bunny

Two ninth-grade girls from Sequatchie County High School in Tennessee, aged 14 and 15, have been charged with conspiracy to commit criminal homicide for compiling a list of individuals they allegedly would like to kill, including faculty members and fellow students as well as famous personages including Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey, and the Energizer Bunny.

School officials discovered the list in a classroom trashcan. Said Dunlap Police Clint Huth:

I am not saying we thwarted a shooting incident or an act of violence. On the other hand, had this gone unchecked, down the road it could have grown into something a whole lot more serious than a list of names.

I'll say. Imagine a world without the Energizer Bunny.

Marked for death.

On a tip from Wiggins.

Thank goodness the authorities are on the job, sifting through cafeteria trashcans, and keeping the world safe for $2.50 burrito & rice hot lunches.

Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey, sure, go for it, no big losses there.

But the Energizer Bunny?? That's where they went too far.

20 years ago I would have said "Geez, don't the authorities have anything else to do with their time?" Today, with all these friekin' kids packin' Dad's CZ and going postal, I'm not so sure the authorities were off-track in trying to intervene before a girl joke turned into a hit list.

I take back what I just wrote above. Since the list was discarded, you'd have to think it was either a teenage girl stupid thing, or the world's most incompetent and disorganized hit team. Either way, not too much to worry about....

Dont guess it'd bother a person UNLESS your child goes to school with this little click of girls huh? I dont take lightly to my child or anyone elses being on such a list. For all the kids out there than think it's funny you could use a bit of parenting yourself. Their punishment was way to easy for them & their parents. They should also be made sit down and tell everyone on that list face to face why they feel the way they do about them and why they'd wanna harm them. They're definately getting the attention they were seaking just not harshly enough. I really get tired of hearing how they get picked on sometimes because of their little "lets dress in all black" and "look so dark all the time" ways. Did any of you know these girls have had a very nice cushy life at home with their parents. One belonging to a state trooper and a school teacher. Hmmm, dont guess the media or our system tells it all, now do they? No cop or teacher was snooping cafateria trash by the way, a student found that list in that trash can ONLY because he saw his name on the paper, would you not have looked? Know all the facts, live in it before you make light of a situation like this.

Mom, seriously, take a pill. Anybody who seriously thinks these girls were a threat has more than a few screws loose.

Simple explanation for the 3 Glitterazzi among the menials? Katie Stock-Holmes Syndrome. The "People" mag-addicted country chicks saw Cruise lose it over Katie on ... Oprah, but can not bear to blame him (short of killing him and Oprah). So they project it on an animation character that acts with the same foolish exuberance as Cruise. Denial and projection. "Gall-damn Enny-jizer Bunny Rabbit. We goin' to kill him too." Next case.

You poor narrow minded people! You dont take a chill pill and ignore the important things around you. Is this the generation that's raising the kids of tomorrow? Very sad! Not exactly dumb country girls as you implied actually, ever wonder if they put that "Gall-damn Enny-jizer Bunny Rabbit there to throw others off? Saw many dumb city folks in my life time thats for sure, they're always killing one another, unlike small town country kids. And FYI I have no screws loose there V the K, I am a concerned parent. Think your parents would take something like this so lightly if you were on that list?

Since I am not neurotic or paranoid, and neither were my parents, I don't think they would have gone eggroll over some stupid little list a couple of teenaged twits wrote up.

This is where we get the idiocy of "zero tolerance," where a kid draws a picture of a gun and the next thing you know, he's shipped off to Special Ed and marked for life as a violent offender.

Thank God that "mom" here isn't MY mom!

These girls were no threat. Come off it. People are just looking for reasons to overreact.

I'd say some worried parents and kids are drama-queen-wannabes.

This doesn't surprise me, this country is becoming more of a police state all the time. Just wait, fifteen years from now you will be sitting at your dinner table, or in your living room, when you make an ill-advised comment against the government.

Unknown to you, your children have been taught by their teachers that questioning the government is wrong and should be reported. So, they do their civic duty and report you.

2:00 AM, your door bursts open, MP5 and M4 wielding officers storm inside and throw you out of bed onto the ground. You are brutally beaten with PR-24 nightsticks, handcuffed and hauled away to prison. Your family will never see or hear from you again.

Wake up people, we ARE NOT living in a free nation anymore. By 2010, everyone will carry a National ID card, which you must present in order to cross state lines. Welcome to the Union of American Socialist Republics. Better start getting used to referring to George W. as the "Dear Leader" so as to avoid the gulag later on.

Ok, I know that rant had nothing to do with 9th grade girls going to the slammer for an innocent joke written down, but it is what the country is coming to, and this incident exemplifies it. Hell, George Carlin makes jokes about "who needs to be killed" and he isn't dragged off to prison is he? These innocent teenagers' lives are now ruined. With felony charges on their record, they will never amount to anything, as noone will hire them, nor will any university of note take interest in them.

These girls should have gotten a couple of days detention AT THE MOST. Instead, they are off to the slammer...God Bless America indeed
