Free NYC Condoms

Mayor Mike Bloomberg will soon unveil New York City's latest offering to the world: its own condom brand. The "free" (paid for by taxpayers) condoms will come in packets in various colors representing the city's subway lines. They will be passed out by the millions in an attempt to prevent rampant degeneracy from continuing to result in the rapid spread of AIDS.
NYC is the country's AIDS capital. In 2005, 1,400 city residents died of it. Socialized condom distribution won't improve the situation — unless people have been foregoing condoms because they can't afford them, which hardly seems likely. But it's bound to be a political winner for Mayor Mike, since most love the illusion of getting something for nothing. Maybe next year the city will pass out free K-Y Jelly.
