2006 Noble and Knave Results
Posted by Dave Blount at January 8, 2007 12:18 PM
The results are in for the Washington Times' 2006 Noble and Knave of the Year contest. The winners represent the most reprehensible examples of moonbattery — but also the most inspiring examples of countermoonbattery.
The knaves:
10. The Dixie Chicks, led by the screechy Bush-basher Natalie Maines, who doesn't "understand the necessity of patriotism."
9. France.
8. Troop-snubbing Senator Jim Webb (D-VA).
7. Corrupt defeatist John Murtha.
6. The depraved and pernicious ACLU.
5. Anti-American academic Ward "Little Eichmanns" Churchill.
4. Incompetent New Orleans mayor and anti-Caucasian demagogue, Ray "Chocolate City" Nagin.
3. Vermont Judge Edward Cashman, who sentenced a child rapist to only 60 days in jail.
2. Yale University, which won't permit ROTC on campus but accepts representatives of the Taliban.
1. Jimmy Carter, the very personification of useful idiot dhimmitude and treasonous moonbattery.
The noble:
10. Child cancer survivor David Dingman-Glover.
9. Dr. Ward Casscells, a world-renowned cardiologist who enlisted in the Army at age 53 because he wanted to support America's cause in Iraq.
8. Staff Sgt. Michael Caldwell, who after being wounded re-enlisted as he lay on the operating table.
7. Oriana Fallaci, who stood up to censorship to sound the alarm on the ongoing Islamic conquest of Italy.
6. The Alaskan villagers who had the patriotism and self-respect to say no thanks to Hugo Chavez's discount heating oil.
5. BB&T Corp., which will not loan money to private developers whose land has been stolen on their behalf by the government by way of eminent domain.
4. The Minnesota National Guard, who appealed to John "Botched Joke" Kerry with their banner reading "HALP US JON CARRY — WE R STUCK HEAR N IRAK."
3. John Bolton, unfortunately removed from his United Nations post because Democrats could not abide his habit of standing up for American interests.
2. Bill Cosby, who has stepped on liberal toes by countering the cult of victimhood with the notion of responsibility.
1. Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael. A. Monsoor, who smothered a terrorist grenade in Iraq with his own body, saving the lives of two fellow SEALs.
Thanks go out to those on the noble list, for restoring the faith in humanity that suffers so much damage at the hands of the knaves.

On a tip from Byron.
