Trans Fat Ban For All of Massachusetts?
As John Stossel predicted, New York City's outrageously intrusive ban of foods prepared with trans fat from restaurants was not the last word in encroaching nanny state totalitarianism. Dem state rep Peter Koutoujian has introduced a bill to enact a similar ban throughout the entire state of Massachusetts.
Massachusetts already has one of the lowest rates of obesity in the country. But despite the sanctimonious posturing of militant moonbats like Kooktoujian, the idea is to improve not so much our health as the health of an ever-expanding bureaucracy that has the intolerable audacity to tell us what we can eat.
Where will it stop? Anything that tastes good is unhealthy according to someone. So is alcohol. So is failing to exercise every day.
As Stossel notes:
Often the health police say they must "protect the children." But children are the responsibility of their parents. When the state assumes the role of parent, it makes children of all of us.
Children — or slaves.
Like most moonbattery, this ban starting in liberal havens (NYC, Massachusetts) will spread, probably with the help of activist courts that will start allowing Breck Girl types to sue restaurants into bankruptcy if they serve anything that tastes better than bean curd.
Then the bureauweenies can start on the mandatory aerobics legislation.

On a tip from Bernie D.

I am remembered of (yes, geek-boy is pulling something out of the memory vault again) Redd Foxx saying of health nuts, "All those people are gonna feel real stupid in fifty years when they're lying in a hospital, dying of nothing."

While they're discussing bans in Massachusetts, how about a ban on electing Kennedys and Kerrys?

Massachusetts already has one of the lowest rates of obesity in the country.
Is this really true? I lived in Boston for a while (admittedly over 20 years ago), and was staggered by how many wide-rides were waddling around.

Don't make me start printing T-shirts that read:
"When French Fries Are Outlawed, Only Outlaws Will Have French Fries."
Because I might just do it.

Meanwhile, back at PETA - America's Most Reliablie Source of Moonbat Idiocy
An animal protection organization has raised objections to convicted felons being used to process chickens at a south Georgia poultry plant whose workforce was decimated by a crackdown on illegal immigrants working there.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said Wednesday that it was concerned that criminals with violent pasts could be among the workers being bused from a probation center.

Sean(pig)Penn is just pissed off that he looks like the south end of a northbound horse. Now he's acting like one too.

The people of NYC should have taken it to the streets when thier idiot communist government decided what they could and could not eat... I would have been outside the front door of the city hall grilling hamburgers, frying french fries in lard, fixing foot long hotdogs with the works, baking chocolate cake with fudge icing, and rock road ice cream just to make sure they understood. I would absolutely NOT submit to that lunacy.

Just a simple question: what started all this trans fat nonsense, anyway?
I assume it is something lefties cooked up (no pun intended) in the dead of night to spring on the rest of us as the devil incarnate (no pun intended again). In that regard it follows a well-trodden path of demonization (cf. Halliburton, Walmart, Diebold, racial profiling, Alar, to name a few).
But what started this one? Anyone know?
