Time to Find Alternatives to Associated (With Terrorists) Press

Kudos to the Boston Herald's Jules Crittenden for acknowledging that the anti-American propaganda passed off as news by the pro-terrorist moonbats of Associated Press has gone beyond anything that it would be reasonable to tolerate.

AP provides news stories to papers throughout the country. Many of the ones pertaining to the war in Iraq are apparently made up out of thin air, with the intention of demoralizing the public. As Flopping Aces was instrumental in revealing, one of AP's prime sources for news of atrocities in Iraq, Iraqi police captain Jamil Hussein, does not exist. The inflammatory stories AP supposedly learned about from the fictional Hussein include a tale of American soldiers shooting 11 civilians.

Unfortunately AP photographer Bilal Hussein is all too real. Hussein was great at getting up close to terrorists, being a terrorist himself. He was arrested in an al-Qaeda bomb factory, with traces of explosives on his person. AP is screeching for his release.

AP's left-wing slant and hostility toward President Bush are relentlessly self-evident. As Crittenden puts it:

The AP, once a just-the-facts news delivery service, has lost its rudder. It has become a partisan, anti-American news agency that seeks to undercut a wartime president and American soldiers in the field. It is providing fraudulent, shoddy goods.

AP has a virtual monopoly on delivering news to newspapers. Fortunately, newspapers no longer have anything like a monopoly on delivering news to the public.

"Justice Stephen G. Breyer says the Supreme Court must promote the political rights of minorities and look beyond the Constitution's text when necessary to ensure that "no one gets too powerful."

As much as I despise the AP, they are preferable to Reuters.
