Red Ken Plans £2-Million Party to Celebrate Cuban Totalitarianism
London's moonbat mayor Ken Livingston has gone completely over the top in his adulation of communist dictator Fidel Castro. He is planning a "massive festival" to be staged in 2009 in celebration of the 50 years that darkness and despair will have been imposed upon Cuba. Indulging Red Ken in this tasteless farce is expected to cost taxpayers up to £2 million.
Of the 33 countries in the Western Hemisphere, only two are categorized as "not free" by Freedom House: Haiti and Cuba. Inmates of Castro's island prison are essentially slaves with no rights at all.
Under Castro, the only thing worse than being a Cuban is being a black Cuban. Contrasting starkly with the situation in free countries, institutional racism in Castro's hell is not a moonbat fantasy, but quite real.
In a pathetic attempt to justify his lavish outrage, Livingston trotted out the standard propaganda about Cuba's supposedly excellent healthcare and literacy rates — both of which are impressive only if you follow the MSM's irresponsible habit of taking the totalitarian regime's statistics at face value.
Remarks Angie Bray, leader of the Conservative group on the London Assembly:
Forking out to celebrate a totalitarian regime is a choice that most Londoners will find bizarre. The Mayor associates himself with some of the most odious people around and it's Londoners who are being asked to pay out. Sooner or later, there will be a reckoning.
I certainly hope so.

Thanks for the tip. I think you can tell a lot about how the left really wants to run America, based on the kind of people they consider worthy of adulation.

"massive festival"
Oh, that's a disgusting photo. Is it a Cuban hospital?
"Massive festival" should be corrected to read--- "massive infest-ival".
Please pass the barf bag.

The left loves Castro b/c he is a dictator. Their highest value is control. Therefore, Castro and Putin and Chavez get the highest marks. The left is composed of dictators: the rich control freaks and the union control freaks. They just have an amazing marketing plan that convinces people that totalitarianism is freedom.

"Health care and literacy." It's always amazed me what small price the Left puts on Liberty. You get what you pay for.

"Sooner or later, there will be a reckoning"
While I think there may be a reckoning of sorts, I don't think it will amount to what one would hope. The reason is because one of the left's favoriate weapons is rationalization.
In the end, the left will never admit that backing castro is a bad thing, they will never admit that electing a pro-dictator mayor is a bad thing. They will never admit that ousting an evil dictator is a bad thing. Rationalization sets in, they will somehow see those bad things as either good things, or the fault of those on the right.
How many times has the left ever admitted they've been in the wrong? And how many times have they been in the wrong? How often can you back murdering dictators like Chavez, Hussein, Castro, Arafat, etc, while denouncing Bush? It's simply this, just how wrong can you possibly be and STILL claim you were right all along?
I don't know if there will ever be a reckoning for these kinds of thoughts and actions, but certainly never an admission of wrong-doing. History will have to judge that, and that will depend on how future generations CHOOSE to judge it. If the left-wingers who control the media, entertainment industry, schools and colleges, court system, congress, and possibly the presidency in a couple of years, have their way, how history will one day be taught will be very unrecognizable to those of us living it now.

And for anyone who actually reads my political ramblings, I, of course, meant to type "They will never admit that supporting an evil dictator is a bad thing" instead of "ousting".
Or perhaps "They will never admit that opposition to ousting an evil dictator is a bad thing"...
whichever you like.
