Mary Robinson: Unchanging Weather Is a Human Right

Mary Robinson, who has been UN human rights chief and President of Ireland, now declares that freedom from climate fluctuation is a human right:

Climate change has already begun to affect the fulfilment of human rights and our shared human rights framework entitles and empowers developing countries and impoverished communities to claim protection of these rights.

Global warming hysteria is so partisan and contrived that anyone could see it is being advanced for the sake of an agenda, part of which seems to be the age-old eat-the-rich moonbattery that gave us communism. More from Ms. Robinson:

There is strong evidence of the rich causing the problem, with the poor most adversely affected, and thus it is time that rich countries address their obligations to reduce climate change and mitigate its effects, including those beyond their borders.

Rhetoric about the "rich causing the problem" is not only phony but counterproductive. Clean air measures are a luxury that only rich countries can afford. Visit India if you don't believe me — and don't forget to bring a gas mask. By crippling the American economy — as climate change fanatics like Al Gore have made it clear they want to do — they will be increasing pollution, not lessening it.

But I'm forgetting: pollution can be good, because it leads to global cooling, which lately is seen as desirable. Here's the Telegraph on a UN report confessing that its global warming predictions were wildly exaggerated:

[The UN] also says that the overall human effect on global warming since the industrial revolution is less than had been thought, due to the unexpected levels of cooling caused by aerosol sprays, which reflect heat from the sun.

Yet the media continues to insist we believe that human activity will soon cause the planet to incinerate — so as to advance the progressive agendas of moonbats like Mary Robinson.

Ironically, the best way to keep impoverished people in poverty is to keep them from developing their resources and to keep them mired in primitiveness.

A cynic might suspect that keeping the impoverished down is the real goal of the Global left.

Well, duh, V.

If you don't have people to control, you can't control people.

Mary needs to change that new red suit for a more appropriate recycled burlap sack
