Kid Has His Mom Arrested For Making Him Do Homework
It's not easy raising kids these days. When a mom in White Plains, New York insisted that her 10-year-old do his homework, he turned her in to the authorities.
The kid called 911 and asked that the police "come and take his mother away because she was pressuring him to do his homework." When she called to check on him from the restaurant where she was working her 10–2 shift, it was the cops who answered the phone. They arrested her for leaving him unsupervised.
City Court Judge Brian Hansbury forced her to sign an order of protection forbidding her from leaving the kid alone or abusing him in any way. Presumably the little darling will not be doing any homework for awhile, but at least his mom learned a lesson.

when our own came home from school at an early age and informed us if we ever laid a hand on them - they could have us arrested. i said "okay", and let the matter drop.
awhile later when one received a hearty swat on the hiney for misbehaving, he said, "mama, you know you can go to jail for that!" i handed him the phone and the number for "911" and basically said something like, "please, i'm begging you, call them - i need a two week vacation away from your sorry little unappreciative self - don't worry - i'm sure your foster parents won't be so bad...although i've heard they can be abusive..."
at 14 and 15, and even though they are larger than i - when i say front and center for a swat - they gladly take it - although, now they laugh to themselves after. they're the best kids and we never have any real earthshattering problems with them.
if i were that parent - i'd surrender that little brat to foster care for a week or two - might do both of them some good!

An idiot judge (which 99% are) just produced a another 10 year old that will end up dead or in prison before age 18. The easiest way to handle a smart ass kid that gets his/her information from the other criminal kids at school is to call 9-11 and request the police pick up the unruly kid and place them in custody for 10-14 days. They will pick them up and every city/town/county has a facility to lock them up. Give it a try and see how fast a smart ass kid becomes smart.

I couldn't agree with the previous posters, especially about the idiot judges. They don't even beling to the real world! My son also threatened to call the authorities on me years ago and I told him, "Let me make it worth their while." He got over that mentality real quick.
Although the kid shouldn't have been left alone, it sounds like the mother was doing all she could and not asking for hand outs. She must have been doing something right - the kid was in the house and she was keeping tabs on him. Where do we send the defense checks to?????

That's pretty amazing. When did we decide that our kids are so incompetent that they can't handle being alone at home for a few hours? In some states it's okay to be home alone at age ten (in some areas you can babysit at age 11). Honestly, a ten year old should be okay for a few hours at home alone.
