Genocidal Dictator Dies, Moonbats Mope

Unsurprisingly, libs grasp neither the justice nor the absolute necessity of the genocidal dictator Saddam Hussein's execution yesterday. Now at last Iraqis know that even if Democrats manage to impose a premature pullout, Saddam will never be restored to power to seek revenge on those who participated in the fledgling democracy. Moonbats are of course incapable of seeing this as good news.

Gateway Pundit has a wrap-up of some of the grousing going on at left-leaning blogs. The depth and maturity of their critical analysis is summed up in the title of a Huffington Post piece: WELL HUNG! Saddam Hung To Prove Bush is BETTER Hung... (Than His Dad).

Moonbat moping and childishness aside, practically everyone else is on board with Saddam's execution, even including in parts of Europe where capital punishment is considered as gauche as patriotism. Davids Medienkritik points to a poll taken by the leftist Spiegel Online, which was horrified to find the following percentages in favor of stringing up Saddam:

USA: 82%
Great Britain: 69%
France: 58%
Germany: 53%
Spain: 51%
Italy: 46%

It's a relief to see that despite decades of brainwashing by government-controlled media, not everybody in Europe is drinking the poisonous liberal Kool-Aid.

Here's video of Saddam departing for hell.

Hussein was lucky. U.S. officials insisted that he be treated humanely, otherwise his head would have been sawed off
with a rusty knife sans anesthesia just as OUR people
endured. He died at the hands of his fellow thugs, but it's too bad the Kurds didn't get to draw and quarter him. They above all
suffered the most under his regime.

btw, when it's an execution vs. a lynching or suicide, the proper term in English is "hanged".

Saddam was a wicked, corrupt person, that much is certain. I don't disagree with his punishment-he was guilty. However, anyone who thinks that Iraq is going to become a "democracy" and an ally to the West is kidding themselves. We may be able to draw the government closer to us, but the people of the Middle East are never going to give up Islamic influence and will never give up thier hatred of Israel and Jews, and will never give up thier hatred of the West. Learn it now: Bush's "democratization" project will fail.

The 69% in the UK is interesting. Back in the eighties, Auberon Waugh noted that although vast majorities in the UK supported capital punishment, the government and, more important, the judiciary opposed it. On the basis of that he opined that the government had no obligation to respect the majority at all.

As we are seeing today -- read Melanie Phillips's _Londonistan_.

It's funny how Americans are so eager to bring democracy to the world whether they want it or not, when our own country was not founded on "democracy" itself. The Founders had little love for democracy because it doesn't work. They created a federal republic where the incompetent masses were held in check. Almost like clockwork, every major event in Iraq was trumpeted as a "turning point" in Iraq's "democracy" only to see it fail. Remember when Saddam's fall was a turning point? Remember when the capture of deck of cards was a turning point? Remember when the killing of his son's was a turning point? Remember when the purple fingers was a turning point? Remember... Well you get the picture. Iraq's still a disaster, growing worse by the day. We need to give up our utopian illusions about everyone being the same and like us.

I was hoping Saddams head would snap off like Tom "Black Jack" Ketchum in 1901.

What people dont understand is the real point of being in Iraq is to make it terrorist flypaper. Every day terrorists head to Iraq instead of America. Of course Bush would never actually tell people this - and neither would those in Congress, though they know it. Its the reason why the calls to exit Iraq immediately by the Dummycrats have slowed to a trickle.

The U.S. in WW II lost 407,000 soldiers in the same time its taken to lose 3,000 in Iraq. Adjusting for increases in population, the losses in WW II would be close to 1,000,000 today. Nobody (except terrorists and traitors) wants to see US troops die in Iraq or Afghanistan but they have killed tens of thousands of nuts who will never be a threat again.

Why is it that the 2 US sailors who fell of a sub and died were hardly mentioned in the news? After all, dead is dead. It seems like a death is only newsworthy if it happens in Iraq.

That's an interesting perspective. Must admit, hadn't thought of that tact before. If this was the main thrust of our plan however, then there was any intent to give the Iraqi people a fighting chance... those who were led to believe that the voting process and the hype over democratic process would allow them to rebuild Iraq. Also, look at all those brave elected officials who got murdered for nothing.

It's impossible to put a positive spin on all this, regardless of one's perspective. As I mentioned before in another post, attacking a muslim country that's surrounded by muslim terrorist states is a no-win situation. Borders can't be secured and the people are too scared and ill-equiped to take the lead. Also, knowing at the get-go that we couldn't "win" anything long-term certainly quashed any hopes of "getting oil" as many clueless anti-Bushites maintain was our reason for being there.

As to Saddam Hussein: the king of Babylon might be dead, but the next one is going to be a bitch.

Terrorist fly paper indeed...at last some one sees what should not be mentioned...it is true and for US that is good, for they are dying over there at their hands rather than killing over here...but nobody wants to think good of US any way expecially President Bush

It should be noted that, according to the same poll, a large majority among both Europeans (France: 90%, Germany 82%, Gr.Britain: 83%, Italy: 73%, Spain: 84%) and Americans (66%) are in favour of retiring the troops from Iraq. See p.31:
