Church Bells Silenced
So long as church bells ring, we'll know that Western Civilization is still breathing — which is why it's particularly disturbing that Fairfax County, Virginia has used a noise ordinance to stifle the bells at St. John Neumann's in Reston.
In 2004 the church spent $50,000 on a new bell system, which has not been used in 23 months now because the bells ring at a modest 60 decibels, slightly higher than the local 55-decibel limit. Amending this limit for the sake of the church was deemed likely to open the county to lawsuits.
Once again the ACLU imposes its militant hatred of Christianity through intimidation without lifting a finger.

i must wonder what this will eventually do to the five calls a day to prayer for the izzies? surely they're not bound by the same rules as the rest of us...

Ah yes, the ACLU... And here is my favorite ACLU related website: http://www.stoptheaclu.com.
There are people fighting them.
