Attention-Seeking Dems to Visit Baby Assad
Apparently out of patience with a Bush Administration too wise to negotiate with the terrorist regimes that have been stoking the chaos in Iraq, Dem Senators John "Botched Joke" Kerry and Christopher Dodd will be touring the Middle East, meeting with various leaders including Bashar Assad of Syria.
The State Department has expressed concerns, but lacks the backbone to block the visit, which is apparently intended to generate some media face time for Kerry and Dodd, and of course to undermine President Bush's foreign policy.
An added benefit for Kerry is it may help people forget about his latest ventures into the headlines, when he was ranked dead last in a poll of likability, and when he characterized US troops as losers lacking in initiative and intelligence. (Congressman Charles Rangel later seconded Kerry's opinion of our troops.)
As for Dodd, a Connecticut Senator who like Botched Joke longs to be POTUS, any exposure is good exposure. He is still best known for participating in a "waitress sandwich" with Teddy Kennedy, who as Pam M. at Blogmeister USA puts it, served "as the other slice of flabby white bread."
Remember the Dems' Seven Dwarves back in 1988? It looks like they will have no shortage of dwarves in 2008 either. But at least two of the dwarves will have a little extra experience in sucking up to terror-exporting dictators, which should win them some brownie points from the media.

If they do tour the middle east visiting royalty and government officials, will they also visit U.S. and allied troops? And if they do visit U.S. troops, will Kerry need added protection due to his "botched joke"?

You want the State Dept to block a U.S. Senator from visiting a foreign leader? My God, you're an incredible fool. You're actually rooting for our full-fledged conversion to Empire! The Executive should not be given unlimited power.

Wake up YOURSELF! You need to explaine how stopping our elected representitives from meeting forigne leaders WHO HAVE SWORN THEY ARE OUR ENEMIES on their OWN INITATIVE will lead to "imperialism".
Fools like yourself love to compare this war with the Viet Nam war, so please tell us how people like Kerry and Fonda visiting our enemies helpped bring PEACE AND LOVE to South East Asia!

Imperialism describes not only aggressive, invasive foreign policy but also the rise of the Executive, something the Fathers dreaded and worked hard to prevent. Members of Congress, no matter how stupid or short-sighted, are not beholden to the Executive on matters of travel, nor should they be. Authorizing the State Dept. to block elected officials from visiting other countries would be a vast expansion and abuse of power.
No real clue what your Vietnam rant was about, so I can't address that.
For more information on empire and it's inevitable disastrous consequences, consult any history book.

All you did was rant after I asked you a legitimate question. Get a clue.
As to The Viet Nam war, almost a MILLION VC were killed to just over 58,000 Americans (We know this NOW because they told us). When the Tet Offencive happened, it was a disaster for the NORTH VIETNAMESE, they suffered tens of thousands killed and only captured ONE small town which they abandoned a couple of days later. General Giap TOLD US years later that the North was ready to surrender after that because they could never mount another attack and Russia was seeing the war as a lost cause. Plus, the following year, the United States landed two men ON THE MOON and brought them back safely which added to the communists' morral problem.
So how did we lose? Because the media and PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF kept saying that the commies were winning and made trips to North Viet Nam to pledge undieing loyalty to communism, you know, JUST LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY!!!!
The Islamo-maniacs are refering to the Viet Nam war in their speaches and propaganda, they now have the greatest. most powerful propaganda machine in history. Like the VC, they know that all they have to do is spread dissention, fire a bullet or two a day, set off a bomb a now and then and they will win EVERYTHING.
And FOOLS like YOU "Wake up fools", are part of their WAR MACHINE, whether you want to be or not.
