Top Dem Charles Rangel's Communist Ties

A picture recently brought to the public's attention at Free Republic indicates what our country is in for if today's Democrats take over Congress:

Charles-Rangel_WWP.jpg

This shot of Rep. Charles Rangel, who is poised to take over chairmanship of the powerful Ways and Means Committee, was taken at a Workers World Party / Troops Out Now rally in Harlem, New York, on March 19th, 2005.

Members of the Workers World Party long ago progressed beyond being progressives. They are Stalinists. Their ideology calls for the destruction of the United States, the abolition of property, and the literal enslavement of the entire human race. The word "evil" barely does them justice.

The WWP sides with the horrific totalitarian regime in North Korea against the USA. From their eulogy for the communist dictator Kim Il Sung:

Comrade Kim Il Sung devoted his whole life to the Korean people's struggle for national self-determination and the international working-class struggle for socialist emancipation. With his leadership, the Korean people defeated the Japanese colonial occupation and soon after brought about the first defeat of the U.S. imperialist military machine.

The associated Troops Out Now sides with the Islamic insurgents killing our troops in Iraq:

It is time for the antiwar movement to acknowledge the absolute and unconditional right of the Iraqi people to resist the occupation of their country without passing judgment on their methods of resistance.

It other words, terrorist tactics and beheadings are a-okay with Charlie Rangel's pals, so long as the objective is to defeat America.

Here's another shot from the same WWP rally, further illuminating the circles our future congressional leaders move in:

Connoisseurs of hard-core moonbattery will recognize Ramsey Clark and Lynne Stewart. Here are some highlights from Clark's career:

  • As Attorney General, sided with rioters against police after the Watts riots.
  • Visited numerous countries including Iraq, North Vietnam, and Serbia on anti-American propaganda junkets.
  • Flew to Iran in 1980 during the hostage crisis to participate in a "Crimes in America" symposium.
  • Supported Libyan dictator Muammar al-Qaddafi after Reagan bombed Tripoli in response to Libya's state-sponsored terrorism.
  • On a pro bono basis, defended the Achille Lauro hijackers who killed wheelchair-bound American passenger Leon Klinghoffer and threw him into the ocean.
  • Defended former Nazis against extradition.
  • Defended perpetrators of genocide in Rwanda.
  • Founded the International Action Center, which is dedicated to undermining US policy and is linked to communist and socialist organizations worldwide.
  • Rumored to have leaked classified information to North Vietnam and the Soviet Union.
  • Denounced US officials as "international outlaws."
  • After 1991 Gulf War that liberated Kuwait, initiated a tribunal that found George H.W. Bush, Colin Powell, and Norman Schwarzkopf guilty of war crimes.
  • Currently serving on Saddam Hussein's defense team.

It's hard to help noticing that this guy really really doesn't like America.

Fellow leftist Lynne Stewart doesn't either. She was recently sentenced to a wrist slap for helping an Islamic terrorist involved in the first attack on the World Trade Center to preside over his operations from behind bars.

The Stalinists at the WWP aren't Rangel's only communist friends. The granddaddy of anti-American dictators, Fidel Castro, has financed Rangel family trips to Cuba — though Rangel has tried to hide the fact. It's the least Castro could do, considering what a good friend Rangel has been. From Discover the Networks:

Rangel is also an indefatigable apologist for Communist Cuba and an avowed admirer of Fidel Castro. In April 1993, Rangel introduced legislation to repeal the Cuban Democracy Act of 1992, which called for repeal of assistance to the Castro government and promotion of democratization, and to lift the embargo against Cuba. When Castro toured Harlem in October of 1995, Rangel greeted him with a bear hug and joined in a prolonged standing ovation for the visiting dictator. During a March 2000 television interview, Rangel lamented that "Cuba is unfortunately treated differently," and chastised Cuban-Americans for supporting an embargo against Cuba. Most recently, Rangel joined six New York Democrats in opposing a House resolution of support for pro-democracy advocates and dissidents in Cuba. Rangel angrily dismissed the activists as "insurgents," condemned a policy of "dealing with dissidents," and complained that American legislators "refuse to give the [Cuban] government the respect that it deserves."

Here's a little information on the Ways and Means Committee:

Created in 1789, Ways and Means is the oldest standing Committee in Congress. Due to its broad jurisdiction on critical issues — involving economic policy, international trade, welfare, Social Security, Medicare and health care policy — the committee occupies a pivotal place in the House Committee system. In addition to legislating, the Committee exercises broad oversight authority in all these areas.

This crucial committee will be hopping to Charlie Rangel's gavel if Democrats take the house. If that doesn't get Republicans out to vote on Tuesday, nothing will.

This commie and traitor has a longer rap sheet
than most cons. Why is he still allowed to
roam the streets and escape prison time or
execution? He should be hanged alongside
Hussein, only more slowly.

Are you a nephew of Joseph McCarthy??? Grow-up dude your politics is already discredited and passe...

Clark was reportedly removed from the courtroom today during Saddam's verdict for handing the judge a memorandum stating that the trial was a "travesty"!

This man is totally void of common sense, just like most Moonbats like "robcoun" above

The existence of communism isn't "passe" nor has political
dissent against communism been discredited...at least not by
intelligent knowledgeable people. Just look at what
70 yrs. of communism did to Russia, and the aftermath of that
diasterous torture. Russia is a mess and will be for many years, perhaps forever as a result of negating their Creator, independence, creativity and competition.

The only ones howling for communism are sociopaths and misanthropes who can't or won't work nor will they develop social skills to deal with life.

"Grow-up dude your politics is already discredited and passe..."

Wow, another moonbat fly-by. They never stick around to explain the insults, just hurl them like feces without any basis or reason.

I wonder exactly what is discredited. I'd love to hear.

First Rangel insults Missisippi, then his P.R. guy, says "it's because he loves NY so much."So come this winter, when he's freezing his butt off,he needs to stay in NY.Ain't no wonder why there's a bumper sticker says "If you "heart" NY so much, what in the hell are you doing down here?"
Then he promises to get more fed money for NY?Another bail-out?From the taxes paid by Southerners?Nah!
