Lieberman: Call Me a Moonbat
Joe Lieberman, the human pincushion, has more Democratic knives sticking out of his back that W himself. When he was challenged by loony-Left Kos Kidz candidate Ned "The Sped" Lamont, the party that had backed him for Vice President in 2000 dropped him like an incontinent lapdog.
Lieberman had committed the ultimate sin, from the progressive point of view: he sided with his own country against its enemies. Despite a long and distinguished career that otherwise rarely strayed from the path of pure liberalism, his Dem colleagues tied an anchor to his neck and pitched him overboard.
But with the help of Republican votes and Lament's obvious lack of qualifications, Lieberman survived.
He had to run as an independent — but in name only. Letting bygones be bygones, Lieberman is set to chair the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee as a member of the party that dumped him.
So much for the dreams of Republicans who thought he could be recruited despite his 90% liberal voting record — as if the GOP really needs a replacement for Lincoln Chafee.

On a tip from Metalgarth.
