Fellow Dems Run From "Botched Joke" Kerry

Steadfastly apologizing to no one for insulting the troops who fight to preserve his freedom and way of life, Kerry is absurdly trying to spin his shameful — though highly characteristic — remarks as a "botched joke." But it appears his Democratic colleagues are beginning to realize that the botched joke is Kerry himself.

However he may twist himself into a pretzel trying to spin it, Kerry said what he said, which is this:

You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't you get stuck in Iraq.

In other words, our troops aren't heroes, they're losers. Even other Democrats appear to be ashamed of Kerry's latest outrage.

Democratic Senate candidate Harold Ford Jr. (D-TN):

Whatever the intent, Senator Kerry was wrong to say what he said.

Democratic Senate candidate Jon Tester (D-MT):

Sen. Kerry's remarks were poorly worded and just plain stupid. He owes our troops and their families an apology.

Suddenly candidates have realized that it doesn't look good to have a character like Hanoi John on the stage with you. Kerry appearances have been canceled for congressional candidates Bruce Braley in Iowa and Tim Walz in Minnesota, and for gubernatorial candidate Bob Casey in Pennsylvania.

It would be surprising if his colleagues have only now noticed Kerry's open contempt for the men and women who serve in our armed forces. Here's what Hanoi John had to say about our troops in Vietnam:

[American troops] personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam...

This is what he thinks our guys in Iraq are up to:

going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women...

Meanwhile, the head of the Democratic Party, Howard Dean, remains in denial mode, calling Jean François' vicious remarks a "blooper." Mad Howie is unlikely to be swayed by the RNC's new web ad calling on Kerry to be decent and apologize to the military.

Jean François apologizes to no one.

I wonder how our troops in Iraq would react to taking orders from a Commander-in-Chief who believes them to be a bunch of uneducated losers.

On the upside, Flipper can tell them how to get out of Iraq in four months or less by faking injuries to get a couple or three Purple Hearts. And, if they make a campaign donation, maybe he'll tell them how to get a Silver Star by faking signatures and having the right contacts. Whatta guy!
