Dan Rather to Do Election Coverage With Professional Clowns

To the intense delight of those who spent years resenting his high-handed liberal propagandizing, Dan Rather's crippled career continues its freefall. After 44 straight years of covering elections for CBS, tonight he will be performing the service for Comedy Central, accompanied by moonbat comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

As Rather explains:

I don't do comedy, I do politics, which sometimes is one and the same.

It sure is when The Dan is involved. Says Bob Thompson, director of Syracuse University's Center for the Study of Popular Television:

There were times during the last few elections I thought Rather was already doing Comedy Central. He won't have to change his act much.... For an awful lot of young viewers, this will be seen as a step up.

In other Dan Rather news, Confederate Yankee reports that the Dan still stands by the phony documents he tried to use to tip the last election to John "Botched Joke" Kerry, evidence be damned.

The Dan tries but fails to get his agent on the phone.

The caption for this photo could read:

"Ham on rye and a side of slaw! Don't forget the lemon in my Diet Coke!"
