Animal Rights Goons Close Down Century-Old Business
Schumacher Furs has been doing business in downtown Portland, Oregon for 112 years — but not for much longer. After an intimidation campaign that has lasted for months, animal rights thugs have managed to drive it away.
The situation is familiar to anyone who has lived in a city with a large moonbat population: sanctimonious kooks with far too much time on their hands single out a business upon which to focus their general hatred of civilization. They set up camp on the sidewalk, heckling and intimidating anyone who tries to go in the store. The police do nothing unless there is actual violence. Eventually the business is forced to close up shop, and moonbats can rejoice in their victory over economic productivity.
In addition to picketing Schumacher Furs, a cult calling itself In Defense of Animals has threatened the owner and his family. There have also been bomb threats against the store. Says the owner:
I don't feel safe entering my own store.
He is not revealing the new location of his store publicly, except to say that it will be on private property so that moonbats can be kept away.
What will be next, after progressives have driven furriers out of business? Eight people were killed when Al Sharpton and friends decided to go after Freddy's Fashion Mart in Harlem for being owned by a Jew. Maybe moonbats will decide to firebomb hardware stores for selling American flags.

I personally would not buy a fur coat. However, as long as a business is legal, it is not for me to stop them from operating. If enough people were to stop buying them, the furriers would die a natural death. Isn't that what the animal protesters advocate? Natural death? LOL
I wonder how many of these protesters would consider picketing a strip club? Afer all, they're against the "skin trade"...

I think I'll buy me something fur to wear while I drive my SUV to the local Wal-Mart...

I just might Andre, I just might! Furs provided many a warm night to the young and old alike for many, many centuries. It might help reconnect us with the only choice our ancestors had to stay warm.

It would be fun to protest the protesters. Can you imagine their reaction if one day a large crowd of angry pro-property rights, pro-capitalism "activists" showed up at their doorstep shouting epithets and spitting on them and things like that.

Stories like this make me angry. I really have issues with ecoterrorists. They take what should be a noble goal (Protecting the environment and animals) and pervert it into an excuse for violence and terrorism.

Protecting animals' so-called "rights" is moonbattery. Animals should never be considered equal to humans, which is what the animal-rights crowd is wanting-they have already produced an Animal Bill of Rights, and some are agitating to make it legal to marry animals. We are also taking protecting the environment way too far, especially with the global warming sham, and excessive regulations harming economies. There is no evidence the earth is on the brink of environmental devestation-it is much tougher than we think.
