Wesley Clark Chastises USA For Siding With Israel Against Hezbollah
For sheer moral depravity in the face of Islamic terrorism, it wasn't easy to top Congressman John Dingell (D-MI), who famously declared, "I don't take sides for or against Hezbollah or for or against Israel." Yet 2004 Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark has managed. Via Vital Perspective, here's what he had to say about our alliance with Israel in a speech he coughed up at the University of Alabama last Friday:
There's a lot of demonstrations out there against the American government and its policies. We've made some serious, serious mistakes, the latest being — it's hard to pick the latest — but one of them, recently, was the one where we sided with the Israelis in that air campaign in Lebanon. And instead of stopping the bombing, we were cheerleading it. It hurt Israel, it hurt Lebanon, and it hurt us. It helped Iran.
Clark couldn't possibly expect anyone to believe that supporting Israel's defensive war against Iran's proxy terrorist army Hezbollah helped Iran or hurt Israel. Under the thin veneer of doubletalk, he's making his sympathies clear.
Israel is the only established democratic country in the Middle Eastern sea of Islam and hostile dictatorships. It is one of the few countries in the world that doesn't seem so consumed with jealousy at our success as to want to knife us in the back. It was deliberately put in a position in which it had absolutely no choice but to defend itself the only way it could. Hezbollah, which put Israel in that position, has killed more Americans than any other terrorist outfit other than al Qaeda. Hezbollah's host Lebanon won't even try to disarm it.
Clark isn't just ambivalent about who we should side with. He's angry that we sided with the good guys against terrorists with American blood on their hands.
If you want people of Clark's caliber running Congress, stay home in November.

Isn't it wonderful that a former general of the United States has found a second career as a moonbat appeaser of the first degree? Had this clown been the CO at the Battle of the Bulge his response to the Nazis would not have been "Nuts", but would have been, " Can I have a top bunk at the prison camp?".
