Venezuelans Fed Up With Chavez Moonbattery

A massive turnout of over 10,000 people defied Hugo Chavez's intimidation tactics, packing a 2-mile avenue yesterday to show their support for Manuel Rosales, who will face Chavez in a December 3 election.

It is not yet too late for an opposition leader to stand up to Chavez without winding up in front of a firing squad. Rosales boldly denounced the thug for wasting Venezuela's oil wealth, for ignoring the explosion of violent crime, and for leading the country on a path toward Castro-style dictatorship.

Despite the near certainty that Chavez will once again resort to election fraud, Rosales urged people not to boycott the election. Let's just hope that someone with a little more respect for democracy than Jimmy Carter is on hand to monitor it.
