Undoing the Christian Reconquista of Spain
Spaniards spent 800 years subsisting as dhimmis under Islamic occupation. At last, in 1492, they succeeded in kicking their Muslim overlords out of the country. For several centuries afterwards, Spain was among the greatest countries of the world.
Unfortunately Spain is a great country no longer, as it proved decisively when it reacted to the March 11, 2004 Muslim terror attacks by electing the Socialist José Luis RodrÃguez Zapatero, who campaigned on a platform of appeasing terrorists. Now, after hundreds of years, annual festivals celebrating Spain's liberation from Muslims are being watered down — so as not to offend its past and future masters.
Traditionally festivals feature locals dressed in medieval costumes reenacting the battles that drove out the Moors. Effigies of the bloodthirsty pedophile warlord Muslims worship are triumphantly burned. But now:
[A]ccording to reports, local authorities have toned down the rituals to preserve Islamic sensibilities and avoid a repeat of the furor that followed last year's publication of Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.
I shudder to think of what those who fought valiantly for generations to free Spain from Islamic domination would think of the belly-crawling dhimmis who voluntarily renounce that hard-earned freedom out of political correctness and cowardice.

They actuaklly vioted for the other side because the incumbent Prime Minister was so quick to blame ETA. I think most of them are regretting it now. Protest votes never work...

Yup, we modern Europeans, all of us, have become a pathetic, inward-looking, cowardly and inactive lot. We made the world, once the Muslims took second place, but now we don't deal with them trying to destroy us; which is what they wish to do. How have we come to give so much ground, ground our ancestors fought to take and keep?!?!?!
