Ted Turner Reveals That He Has Attained Near Perfection
Yesterday CNN founder Ted Turner indulged in a rambling sermon in front of the National Press Club in DC. From atop his high horse, he instructed the world as to how it should conduct its affairs.
We must "get rid of all nuclear weapons" under the supervision of International Atomic Energy Agency (a part of the astonishingly corrupt and anti-American United Nations). We must "get serious about family planning." We must provide free solar panels to the world's poor. We must have a strong United Nations, presumably to keep the USA in its place. We must all work together instead of "going to war whenever somebody disagrees with us or that we don't like the way they look or the way they smile." We must pick up trash that we see in the street and carry it to a waste basket. Et cetera et cetera ad nauseam.
Amidst the righteous preaching came this remarkable statement:
I always feel like if you really work hard and get to be nearly perfect, then you can go around and tell everybody else what to do. But if you're not perfect, you shouldn't tell other people what to do.
Since his oration largely consisted of telling other people what to do, I can only assume that Ted Turner has attained near perfection.
Since he's only nearly perfect, Turner is entitled to a few mistakes.
A year ago, Turner announced that "the North Koreans are absolutely sincere" and that there is "really no reason for them to cheat" regarding development of nuclear weapons. He continued to rave:
I looked them right in the eyes, and they looked like they meant the truth. I mean, you know, just because somebody's done something wrong in the past doesn't mean they can't do right in the future or the present. That happens all the, all the time.
Now Turner is "very upset" that, like Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, he has been played for a fool by North Korea's Stalinist dictatorship.
Another minor flaw is his indecisiveness. Regarding the epic struggle between Western Civilization and terrorist Islam, he still hasn't figured out which side to take:
On a tip from Wiggins.

How many wheels are there left on Ted Turner’s trolley? If ever there were a moon bat, this fellow is one. Though one might be forgiven for believing the bats left the belfry for better climes a while back.

Turner's "..if you're perfect, you can tell people what to do..." is the perfect example of moral relativism turned into hypocrisy.
In effect, he denies the existence of truth, which can be attested to by the most egregious liars.
