Steve Lyons Fired For Alleged Political Incorrectness
Having made an innocuous comment that was construed to be racist against Hispanics, Fox baseball broadcaster Steve Lyons has been fired right in the middle of the playoffs and replaced by Dominican announcer Jose Mota.
Fellow announcer Lou Piniella, also Hispanic, remarked during Friday's Tigers–A's game that Oakland infielder Marco Scutaro's surprising performance was like finding a "wallet on Friday," and that DH Frank Thomas needed to stop being "frio" and become "en fuego."
Lyons responded that Piniella was "hablaing Espanol" and joked, "I still can't find my wallet."
In the climate of fear created by multiculturalism, that's all it takes to destroy a career.

Steve Lyons in happier times.
On a tip from Wiggins.
