Lynne Stewart Verdict Proves She Is Far From Alone
By now you've heard that "civil rights" lawyer and assistant terrorist Lynne Stewart received only a 28-month wrist slap for helping Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman conduct his terrorist operations from inside prison.
The media pleaded for mercy for Stewart, who willfully assisted a guy who was involved in the first World Trade Center attack and tried to blow up the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, killing as many innocent Americans as possible. She's recovering from cancer, she's a grandmother, she helped poor downtrodden killers like the Black Panthers and the Weather Underground.
The judge agreed; John Koetl praised the evil hag as a champion of "the poor, the disadvantaged and the unpopular." He imposed a sentence much less than what you might get for having cocaine in your pocket.
You might say he showed mercy. But as the Wall Street Journal points out, mercy is inappropriate where there is no remorse,
and Ms. Stewart shows none, either for her crime or for the arc of a career which flows too naturally from championing the "liberation" movements of the 1960s to the Islamists of the present day.
Stewart has sniveled of her arrest:
It takes unfair advantage of the climate of urgency and hysteria that followed 9/11.
This is a woman that in any reasonable culture would be hanged — a creature perfectly willing to help Muslims kill us for living in the country that she hates. Instead she gets a few token months in jail and the adulation of liberals, despite leaving no doubt that she would do the same again and worse if given the opportunity.
This is only possible because leftists turned terrorist sympathizers like Stewart are not the exception but the rule in our justice system and in our media, both of which are rotten with a strain of moonbattery that is a more profound threat to our country than terrorism itself.

Looks like a fatter, older Sheehan. Who is that a painting of in the background?

Looks kind of like Fidel Castro, doesn't it?

Maybe, I was thinking it was some marxist piece of crap.

Anyone notice the portrait of Castro displayed so lovingly in the background? Ya gotta wonder if some nutcase shoots her dead and in court the defendant's case rests on the premise of "you can't charge me with murder for defending my country by killing an enemy combatant" Any legal precedents here guys? No, I'm not advocatin' someone off Ms. Stewart but I doubt if anyone on this board would shed a tear.
