Cowardice and Moonbattery Kill Study of Islamic Extremism
An appalling combination of cowardice and moonbattery has put the kibosh on a British project to study the growth of the Islamic groups that have been spreading terror throughout the world.
The £1.3-million project, entitled "Combating Terrorism by Countering Radicalisation," was to "scope the growth in influence and membership of extremist Islamist groups in the past 20 years," "name key figures and key groups," and help "understand the use of theological legitimisation for violence." Key topics to be studied were "radicalisation drivers and counter strategies in each of the countries studied" and "future trends likely to increase/decrease radicalisation."
It was deep-sixed by the Economics and Social Research Council and the Arts and Humanities Research Council after academics whined that British researchers in Muslim countries would be put at risk, presumably because Muslims invariably respond with violence to being linked with violence.
In addition to cowardice, pure moonbattery was a factor. Sniveled John Gledhill of the Association of Social Anthropologists:
People feel that it smacks of the cold war use of academics in counter-insurgency activities — essentially using academics as spies.
Others academics complained that they didn't want anyone to think they suspect people who are "Asian looking" of being involved in extremism. The University and College Union declared that its members didn't want to be
sucked into a kind of Islamic McCarthyism, which has major implications for academic freedom.
Apparently it never occurred to these cringing fools that dhimmitude has much greater implications for academic freedom.

We should be sorting it out, fast track, not having idiots from our own side (supposedly*) slowing it down. We should know all about these groups, their intentions, just how many of them there are and how fast they've grown: Of course we should, for out own self-defence. * - However, when you've got situations like 60,000 white (Caucasian)Muslim Converts,in the UK alone, is it any wonder this is happening. One of the biggest problems is disaffected bitter whites, who would sooner see their own culture destroyed than try to make it better. Scary isn't it.
