Child-Raping Attempted Murderess Twyana Davis Finally Gets Some Jail Time
Twyana Davis has finally received jail time, unfortunately not for attempted murder of her own child, but for statutory rape of her baby's father. She got 10–25 years in prison, and a $10,000 fine. She deserves worse.
Ten years ago, Davis attempted to kill her infant daughter by wrapping her in plastic and throwing her in a trash bin. The baby was discovered and spared a horrible death, but not a horrible life — Davis was later given custody of the child she had attempted to murder.
At the time, Davis claimed the baby was the result of being raped at a party. In fact the baby was the product of rape, but Davis was the rapist. Ten years down the road, she confessed that the father was her cousin, who was 12 years old at the time. Unsurprisingly, he grew up to be a rapist too, and is serving time for it in Ohio's Lebanon Correctional Institution.
Davis was originally convicted of child endangerment, but received nothing more than probation. She wrote a book about her experiences called Sacred Womb, and was booked on Oprah and 20/20, where no doubt everyone admired her great courage and paid tribute to her suffering.
When she gets out on parole, perhaps she'll write another book, so that Oprah can fawn over her some more, as housewives coo and wipe their tears.
