British Airways Employee Suspended For Wearing Crucifix

British Airways employee Nadia Eweida has been suspended without pay for showing up at work wearing a necklace with a crucifix right out where people might see it.

Muslims and Sikhs are allowed to wear headscarves and turbans, but that's different, according to British Airways, because "it is not practical for staff to conceal them beneath their uniforms."

Eweida's father is an Egyptian Coptic Christian; her mother is English. John Ray at Political Correctness Watch comments:

Sad that it takes a Coptic Christian to stand up for the faith. The only thing a member of the Church of England would stand up for is homosexuality.

Although here have been some encouraging signs from the Church of England.
