Mexican Al Gore's Revolution Fizzles

Fortunately for Mexico, the leftist revolution of defeated presidential candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador is petering out.

Mexico's answer to Al Gore threw a prolonged tantrum when he lost to conservative Felipe Calderón by a narrow margin on July 2. If the election were held now, López Obrador would get the spanking his behavior warrants, losing by 24%.

According to political columnist José María Carmona:

The political career of López Obrador is entering its final phase.

The former Mayor of Mexico City squealed that fraud prevented him from being elected, but failed to offer any meaningful proof. His move to occupy the Paseo de Reforma with a tent city of his moonbat followers has paralyzed Mexico City traffic and crippled local businesses. Although his Gore-esque strategy may have succeeded in undermining Calderón's perceived legitimacy, most Mexicans seem to wish López Obrador would just go away. However, his supporters plan to continue their campaign of civil disobedience, casting doubt on Mexico's stability and potentially scaring away foreign investment.

As he grows increasingly strident, López Obrador has taken to screeching like a Kossack about judicial coup d'états. He calls upon his supporters not to recognize Calderón as the President, and has even threatened to set up a parallel government.

Soon it will sink through his skull that he lost, and López Obrador will slink back into his hole. Look for him to reappear in a few years, crusading against the weather.

Too bad he doesn't have a Mexican Naomi Wolf to tell him what to wear.
