Lesbian Fire Chief Oppresses Women
Bonnie Bleskachek, lesbian, has many sad tales to tell of the sexist oppression she endured after joining the Minneapolis Fire Department: cold shoulders, anti-gay slurs, soda cans bounced off her head, etc. But after she became the fire chief, the whip hand was hers.
Currently Bleskachek is on leave pending an investigation into various allegations of sexual harassment occurring over a period of 10 years. The department has been found to give preferential treatment to lesbians. Several women accuse America's first big-city female fire chief of retaliating against them for rejecting her homoerotic advances by denying them training and advancement opportunities.
But Bleskachek's career has its upside. According to Tom Thornberg, president of the local firefighters union,
She put a lot of time and effort into making this a job that's available for women.
In part she accomplished this by changing "the grueling physical test so it more accurately reflected the tasks required on the job," as ABC News puts it. In other words, she eased the physical requirements so that women could pass. If you pass out from smoke inhalation during a fire, try not to do it in Minneapolis, where if you weigh over 120 lbs or so you might find yourself getting dragged down the stairs by the ankles instead of carried.
On a tip from the non–office-safe Right Reverend Rabbi Judah.

Gee, is this story supposed to be surprising? In Austin, Tx. a woman sued the fire department because she did not take the test for the academy when she was scheduled. Her reason? She was having her monthly and she had cramps. And to top it off, it was her second time to test. She had failed the first one when she couldn't pass the physical strength portion of the test.
Gotta fire in your home and need it put out? Better check with the gals at the fire station and make sure they are not having cramps otherwise you just might have to do a Nero and buy a fiddle.

I want to be an WNBA superstar, but that option is unavailable to me as a member of an opressed subgroup, the talentless. Do you think they can lower the grueling physical standards (and the basket)so that I can earn millions of dollars dazzling lesbians?
