How to Get Applause on "The View"

On ABC's "The View," noted theologian Rosie O'Donnell successfully plays to her New York City studio audience on the day after the 5-year anniversary of 9/11 with this line:

Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America.

One advantage liberals have is their knack for saying things that are so fundamentally false and gut-twistingly vile that you don't know where to begin rebutting them.

Gee I wonder how Rosie, a fat, loud-mouthed atheist lesbian would feel under Shari'a law?

Stoned?

I'm actually impressed that Rosie made a connection of radial islam being a threat. Her attack on christianity shouldn't suprise too many... Truth is she would probably embrace a muslim before she embraced a christian.

Im still trying to forget that horrifying image of Rosie in theat black leather S&M outfit in EXIT TO EDEN made 13 years ago.

Every time her ugly mug appears on the Tee Vee it brings back that horrible image.

Gahhhhhhhhhhh! My eyes!

Rosie is what make many men turn gay.

You guys need to lighten up.

I named my English bulldog after Rosie. Looks like her and she's fat and lazy to boot.

You know, I hate getting to the party when all the good jokes are taken.

One thing though...Jack, I never saw the scene to which you refer, but I now feel like I need a chemical shower as a result of the mental image conjured up by the reference alone. You have my sincere pity for having to live with the disability of having actually seen it.

Rosie has always had the unbelievable ability to suck this life out of every scene she is in. Is her IQ anywhere near triple digits?

Hey Hank! Not good enough. Your English bulldog needs to be a lesbian.

Rosie is an excellent argument for the existence of Hell. What man would not repent here and now knowing that he might face an eternity of Rosie?

YAK, yeah it was truly horrifying.

Seeing Dan Aykroyd in the same sort of outfit in that movie was nearly as bad.

Posted by: General Jack D. Ripper at September 13, 2006 8:35 PM

At least Dan Akroyd can be funny.

she is right about radical christianiy being a threat though. sure not as big of a violent threat. however a threat to the constitution and our personal freedoms. i also see these right wing nutcase jesus kooks becomming possibly violent in the future if they start losing elections. religous kooks start to really show their true colors when they arent getting their way. precisely why i am a fire armed trained, gun owning moderate libertarian

Posted by: brian at September 13, 2006 11:02 PM

Yikes! Now we're being threatened by armed, insane MODERATE extremists. What's next?

In my view this is the base of the problem. Abortion and Civil Unions, (gay marriage). Since these two issues have come to the forefront there has been a major break in america. Both of the above weren't an issue before 1973. We all agreed that abortion was morally wrong. Two people of the same sex couldn't marry, period!! Some crazy people have taken things out of the Bible and decided that they could jusifiably use violance against homosexuals and have gone so far as to even Kill some. This is so Wrong!! Same problem with abourtion clinics, some nuts thought they were right to bomb them , also totally wrong. Thank God that these insodents were few and no Christian religion that I know of supported these acts of violance. However, abortion is the ultimate act of violance against the most helpless of our society, this is also horribly wrong. As for homosexuals, they have a right to live however they wish without fear of any kind. But marriage is a religious covenant and can't be for people of the same sex. If we can understand these two issues and resolve them, there wouldn't be a Problem with Christianity in our country. As it was for all of our history, American values and Christianity were one in the same. In my opinion, abortions should be allowed only for the health of the mother, and I mean serious health issue. As for Gay people, maybe some form of civil union can be worked out so they can feel secure in there relationships, for legal purposes ect. Well that's all I have. What do you think?

For Barbara Walters to choose someone like Rosie O'Donnell to host the view makes me wonder if she really has any class at all. I caught the show one time since she has hosted when they had the Big Brother houseguests on and the way she interviewed them was ridiculous. My 5 year old nephew could have been more professional. It makes me wonder if all the of the executives and Barbara are getting together and smoking crack!!!
