Harkin Backs Chavez

Hugo Chavez's juvenile anti-Bush rants may have been too much even for W opponents Nancy "Stretch" Pelosi and the demagogic Charlie Rangel, but Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) is made of sterner stuff.

Chavez is becoming well known for anti-American rhetoric that makes his mentor Fidel Castro sound like a Republican by comparison. But former Dem presidential candidate Harkin defended him:

Let me put it this way, I can understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush's policies.

In an astounding example of the disconnect between a prominent Democrat and reality, Harkin raved about the love Muslims had for America, before President Bush ruined everything by insisting on responding to their terrorist atrocities. An actual quote from a member of the United States Senate:

Every Muslim country was basically on our side. Just think, in five years, President Bush has squandered all that.

If characters like Harkin end up in control of the Senate, we could be in for some very serious trouble.

I wonder if people are still still thinking that Pat Robertson's comment about Chavez was inappropriate.

I am a real american that loves my country not a traitor like a lot of democrats and rino,s just
seeking a high paying political position for life.
did you know that these people continue to draw their same pay when the leave the congress as they do when they are their , and they do not pay s.s. and they are entitled to free medical their entire life , so for some of them they get big bucks for life for doing nothing but screwing the country up.

As an Iowan I would like to take this moment to apologize to the entire country that we can't seem to get Harkin out of office. Again, sorry.
