Why Bumbling Savages Can Destroy Civilization

Posted by Dave Blount at August 23, 2006 2:09 PM

Special thanks to Walter Williams, for explaining why Western Civilization finds its very existence threatened by incompetent barbarians who are still living in the 7th Century. Iran, al Qaeda, Hezbollah, et al. would be insignificant pests if not for our only truly significant enemy, which works like AIDS to weaken our immunity so that a common cold hits us like pneumonia. That enemy is of course moonbattery.

As Williams observes, we have the capacity to blow Iran off the map. If the Iranians thought we had the character to exploit that capacity, they would immediately cease to be a problem. But being children of the Carter Administration, the ayatollahs know better.

Thankfully we didn't have to fight Germany and Japan amid the current state of decay. Imagine the outcry from the chorus of contemptible weasels known as the "international community" after Hiroshima and Dresden. Imagine how quickly limp U.N. types would call for ceasefires and negotiations as soon as we started to get the upper hand.

Before moonbattery had corroded both our spines and our minds, we realized that there could be no ceasefires with Hitler or Tojo. That would only have allowed them to regroup and then come back at us with more advanced technology. They were defeated because we understood that they had to be. The sort of insurgency we're dealing with in Iraq couldn't have occurred in Germany or Japan, because instead of fretting about their hearts or minds, we focused on totally vanquishing our foe, so that it was left with neither the means nor the will to resist.

The Germans and Japanese had competence, strong military traditions, and powerful economies in their favor. Muslims have a greater advantage: our press is on their side. If Joseph Goebbels had run our media in WWII, we'd be saluting swastikas now.

The internal enemies that flourish like toxic weeds in the smelly mulch of moonbattery are hardly limited to the media. Thanks to Democratic appointees like Anna Diggs Taylor, our legal system is lousy with them — to al Qaeda's great benefit. Our government itself is infected, as evidenced by Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), who recently announced, "I don't take sides for or against Hezbollah." Hezbollah isn't just waging a terrorist war against our ally Israel; it killed 241 members of the U.S. military when it bombed our barracks in Beirut.

Appeasement didn't work for Europe in the 1930s. If Hitler had been nipped in the bud, countless horrors could have been avoided, and tens of millions of lives saved — just as tens of millions of lives could be saved if we deal with Islamic imperialism before nuclear-armed terrorist regimes become a fact of life.

Iran knows we could kick it over like an anthill. It also knows that we won't. That is what gives it the freedom to develop weapons of mass destruction, to finance terrorism, and to wage proxy wars against Israel and the fledgling democracy in Iraq.

Having allowed Iran to develop nuclear weapons, why wouldn't we let it use them? Deterrence worked on the Soviet Union because they believed we would respond with massive nuclear retaliation if we or our allies were attacked. Why would Iran believe this?

If a nuclear device went off in New York City, would we retaliate on the appropriate scale? Possibly, but I doubt it. If I doubt it, the mullahs might doubt it. If the mullahs doubt it, they aren't just going to build the bomb, they are going to use it.
