U.N. Has Been Providing Military Intelligence for Hezbos' Benefit

In the aftermath of the recent flare-up between Israel and Hezbollah, we can at least stop pretending that the U.N. is neutral in the greater war between civilization and Islamic imperialism. As the Weekly Standard reports, UNIFIL (the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) used its public website to post precise and up-to-date military intelligence regarding Israeli troop positions and movements, weaponry, and materiel.

The military intelligence handed out by UNIFIL — of obvious strategic importance to the Hezbos — could not be obtained from any non-U.N. source. Not even the blatantly pro-terrorist world press was publicizing this information, if only because reporters were too busy staging photos of put-upon Arabs to acquire it.

Stating the obvious, a retired senior military analyst noted that the intelligence "could have exposed Israeli soldiers to grave danger."

As for Hezbo movements and locations, the U.N. provided no specific information.

This isn't the first time UNIFIL did its part for jihad. In 2000, it videotaped the Hezbollah kidnapping of three Israeli soldiers, then stonewalled Israel for 9 months, pretending that it didn't have the tapes, even while clips from them were being shown on Syrian and Lebanese television.

Later U.N. bureaucrats justified their perfidious behavior by chirping that helping Israel recover the kidnapped soldiers by coughing up the tapes would have compromised their "full impartiality and objectivity," and that they had to "ensure that military and other sensitive information remains in their domain and is not passed to parties to a conflict." This shovelful of sanctimony is particularly amusing in light of the military intelligence they've been posting for Hezbollah's benefit.

Eventually Israel traded 429 Arab prisoners, including convicted terrorists, to get back the corpses of the soldiers, in whose deaths the U.N. is complicit.

The U.N. doesn't like the USA any better than it does Israel. The $billions we flush down this wicked organization every year are hardly likely to be applied toward advancing American interests, especially with the theatrically anti-American Hugo Chavez lobbying hard to join the Security Council.

The time has come to pull out of the U.N., before another cent is spent on the rope rogues will use to hang us.
