The World Community and Its Norms

Just how warped is this "world community" whose disapproval we're expected to fear?

Jordan-based Arab Bank, which has been fueling terrorism Saddam-style by providing payments to the relatives of suicide bombers, is calling for a federal judge in Brooklyn to dismiss a lawsuit being brought against it by thousands of Israelis on the grounds that terrorism does not violate any "international norm." The bank's lawyers also note that many people do not consider Palestinian suicide bombers to be terrorists.

The plaintiffs can sue in U.S. court if they prove that funding the random murder of Israeli civilians violates norms accepted by "civilized nations." But what does that mean when formerly great nations have succumbed to dhimmitude and moonbattery?

Echoing the depraved bleating of the politically correct dhimmis at al-Reuters following September 11, a lawyer for the bank proclaimed:

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter — that holding is binding on this court.

Counters Gregory Joseph, a lawyer for the plaintiffs:

We have a bank in New York paying bounties on the bodies of dead civilians. It would be a remarkable ruling for the court to conclude that the widespread and systematic killing of civilians was not a violation of international law.

Remarkable, but not all that surprising — so long as it's Muslims doing the killing.

The world community? You will not find a more wretched hive of scum and villany.
