British Cleric Identifies Multiculturalism As the Problem

With Christian civilization under assault, clergy needs to offer guidance and inspiration. Instead it has tended to wallow in the same politically correct bilgewater that is washing it away. But Michael Nazir-Ali, Britain's Bishop of Rochester, bucks this trend by pointing out that multiculturalism isn't the solution to Muslim violence — it's a cause of it.
The liberal response to Islamic terrorism is to fret over Muslim grievances. But there is really only one Muslim grievance, and it goes back for centuries. They don't like it that we exist.
As Nazir-Ali observes, "there can never be sufficient appeasement, and new demands will continue to be made." What they want is the planet to themselves. There's only one thing Israel could do to make them happy: disappear. The same goes for the rest of Western Civilization.
Meanwhile, political correctness causes us to deliberately cultivate the Islamic cancer growing inside our society. Mosque schools have been encouraged in Britain. Instead of learning math and science and the background of British culture, kids learn to hate the infidel in the name of an evil god from the dark ages. By favoring segregation, school and housing policies allow the cancer of Islam to metastasize.
The answer is not to patronize the barbarous cultures of immigrants' ancestors, but to assimilate them into Western civilization by teaching them its values, which Nazir-Ali summarizes as recognition of "the innate dignity of all human beings, with fundamental equality, with liberty and with safety from harm" and a commitment to "freedom of belief and of expression." No one embracing these values would be susceptible to radical Islam.
Before we can assimilate immigrants by teaching them to believe in our culture, we need to believe in it ourselves. That's why it is crucial that we conquer multiculturalism, moral relativism, and every other form of moonbattery so that we are no longer a house divided against itself. The alternative is to allow Western Civilization to be torn to pieces from within.
