9/11 Conspiracy Kooks Target Val McClatchey

Charlie Sheen, Kevin Barrett, James Fetzer, and the rest of the obnoxious lunatics who make up the "9/11 Truth Movement" may be irritating in the extreme, but aren't their childish conspiracy theories just a harmless diversion? Not if you ask Val McClatchey.
Mrs. McClatchey managed to take the one and only picture of the crash of United Airlines Flight 93, after the passengers heroically rose up against Muslim hijackers who apparently intended to fly it into the Capitol. Producing physical evidence of what actually happened that day has not won her any friends among 9/11 conspiracy theorists, who would like to throw her famous photo down a memory hole so they can get on with the task of constructing their alternate history of September 11.
Proclaiming her photograph to be a fraud on a variety of pseudo-scientific grounds is not enough for conspiracy-minded bloggers, who have publicly maligned her character and have even called her at home to harass her. A kook calling himself Killtown has posted her home address, phone number, and personal email address online.
Conspiracy kooks' assertions that Mrs. McClatchey photoshopped smoke into her photograph are highly ironic, considering that their moonbat brethren at al-Reuters were recently caught red-handed doing exactly that.
Unlike the Reuters picture, Mrs. McClatchey's is entirely authentic, as verified by the FBI. According to special agent Jeff Killeen of Bureau's Pittsburgh office, it is "a very legitimate photograph... that was taken moments after Flight 93 crashed to the ground."
But of course, the tinfoil hat brigade believes that the FBI is in on the conspiracy. Whether they think Flight 93 was shot down by Air Force missiles on orders from Karl Rove or captured by alien spaceships is not clear.
"The truth speaks for itself," says Mrs. McClatchey. Too bad not everyone is listening.
