Peace Activist Beats Singer Into Coma
Rising pop star Billy Leeson, lead singer for the British band Les Incompetents, was riding on a London bus last week when some maniac started harassing his girlfriend. An altercation ensued. After the two men got off the bus together, the maniac threw a punch that resulted in Leeson fracturing his skull and going into a coma. The madman ran off laughing. His name: Christiaan Taylor Briggs, peace activist.
Briggs is best known for leaving his New Zealand home in 2003 to serve as a human shield, defending the genocidal dictatorship of Saddam Hussein in the name of peace, love, and the children. In 2001, he ran for Napier City Council on the Green Party ticket and fortunately lost. Masochists can subject themselves to Briggs' bloviations at his blog Last Straw.
Leeson remains unconscious, in critical but stable condition, while Briggs is at large, having posted bail — though he had to cough up his passport and is supposed to observe a nightly curfew. Let's hope Leeson recovers and is able to steer clear of peace activists in the future.

Can you say hypocrisy? I know that you can.

Have you noticed that None of the 'Human Shields' who went there in 2003 to protect Saddam have gone back to protect Iraqi civilians from insurgents?
I guess it's easier to stay home, whine, and skip a meal or two.

Seeing the Les Incompetents video on YouTube makes me sad. They seem to be a ska band, and quite good.

Remember, V the K, the insurgents are the good guys.

Yes, Steve, good point. I am sure that, in a way, Billy Leeson being in a coma is Bush's fault.

Of course it is. If Chimpy McBushHitleriburton hadn't invaded Iraq Mr. Briggs wouldn't have been looney tunes enough to beat a complete stranger.

It must be wonderful to be a liberal. To be able to blame every bad thing you do or that happened to you on someone else. Most of us stopped that kind of behavior in Jr. High, but to a lefty, this is the pinnacle of intellectual discourse. So is it cowardice, denial, or stupidity? Enlighten us.
By the way, Bill Clinton made me type this entry.

I liked it better when 'human shields' were known by their older name...
'Collateral damage.'
